Historia
When college kid Jude Adler wishes for a new life on a shooting star, he never imagined it would come in the form of a shapeshifting alien who nearly crash-lands his spaceship on top of him, let alone one who chooses to disguise himself as a man inspired by Jude’s wildest fantasies. Al’s ship is damaged and unable to make the flight home, and when he earnestly asks Jude for a safe place to stay until help arrives, how can Jude say no?

Funny and Adorable
Revisado: 03-05-25
I enjoyed this book a great deal. Al is just adorable and I laughed out loud several times at his antics. I really liked Jude and Al’s love story. This is a really fun listen and if you like alien romances I highly recommend it.

Historia
Three years ago, a scandal cost antiquarian "book hunter" James Winter everything that mattered to him: his job, his lover and his self-respect. But now the rich and unscrupulous Mr. Stephanopoulos has a proposition. A previously unpublished Christmas book by Charles Dickens has turned up in the hands of an English chemistry professor by the name of Sedgwick Crisparkle. Mr. S. wants that book at any price, and he needs James to get it for him. There's just one catch. James can't tell the nutty professor who the buyer is.

One Of My Favorite Books So Far This Year
Revisado: 05-31-23
KJ Charles is one of my favorite authors. I was really looking forward to this book and I was not disappointed. I highly recomend reading or listening to it. The plot is fun with some intresting twiats and turns. The characters were well-developed and I enjoyed getting to know them.
The narrator is good. He has a pleasant voice and he gives the character distinct voices. However, the pace of the narration is odd. It's weirdly slow with long pauses. At first i found it unlistenable. I'm not sure what happened but I think it might be a production issue. ThankfullyI read other reviews and followed their advice. Speeding up the narration to 1.35x fixed the problem for me and made the narratation sound normal except for the occassional misplaced pause, I was able to listen and enjoy the story.

Historia
It’s really hard to pretend like life is normal when you’re staring a monster in the eyes, though he’s both tempting and irritating in his human form. I put my days as a hunter behind me, unable to cope with the death and pain anymore, to become an upstanding citizen and for what? To assist Lake, a man who claims he’s not a monster but keeps talking about me like I’m edible and–even worse–wants to woo me?

Historia
Kip O’Connor lives a simple life in the little seaside town of Pearl Bay. Unless it’s tourist season, things tend to be pretty peaceful. There is, however, one never-ending source of irritation in the form of Police Chief Merrick Dawson. Merrick is Kip’s older brother’s BFF, and nothing seems to bring Merrick more joy than nagging Kip about silly things. You’d think a police chief would have more important things to do than lecture Kip on parking tickets and picking up pet waste, but somehow Merrick always finds the time.

Enjoyable Cozy Mystery
Revisado: 06-12-22
I really enjoyed this book. For me cozy mysteries are comfort reads and this books was no exception. I enjoyed getting to know Kip and Merrick. I'm looking forward to reading more about them. The mystery was intruiging and fun to follow. The plot held my interest through the whole book. I liked it so much I bought the ebook of the second book to read right away.
The narrator is new to me but I really liked him. I think he did a great job. I'm looking forward to listening to the other books in the series I they are released in audio and I hope they will be.

Jordan L. Hawk is one of my favorite authors. I was looking forward to this book and was glad to see it avaliable in audio so quickly. It did not disappoint. Tristan James does a great job with the naration. He's one of my favorite narrators.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is thrilling and has some very creepy moments. I do not recommend listening to this audiobook before bed. The characters were interesting and well developed. I enjoyed getting to know them including the secondary characters. The romance is sweet and not the main focus of the story, but I still really enjoyed the connection between the main characters. I hope to see Nigel and Oscar again and see how their romance develops. I'm hoping there will be more books in the series.

Overall I enjoyed this audiobook
Revisado: 04-20-22
Overall I enjoyed this book. The narrator does a great job with the different voices for each character. The mystery is intruiging and kept me listening. I liked both the main characters a lot and the romance is building quite nicely between the Max and Royce. I like that Royce can see past Max's prickly exterior. I hope the rest of the series is released in audio.

I’m a huge fan of this author and the Hexworld books. This book Ives forward in time to the 1920s and it’s my favorite of the series so far. I loved all the characters especially Sam. I also loved seeing the way that familiars lives have changed as they’ve gained more rights. I really enjoyed listening to this book and I hope there will be more to come.

This book is completely infuriating.
Revisado: 09-21-20
I enjoyed the first two books in the series but this one was an incredible disappointment.
Spoilers ahead.
Adin is put through the wringer in this book. He is turned against his will by his lover and then later in the book he’s tricked by someone and drugged. Then he’s experimented on and tortured.
Not only is he told that he’s needs to accept his life as a vampire something that he expressly said he did not want but he’s treated like a child throwing a tantrum when he doesn’t immediately embrace his new life.
But then unbelievably he is blamed by all the other characters for everything that has happened to him too. He’s told that his actions brought about his imprisonment and torture. He is told if he had only done what he was supposed to do none of it would have happened. First of all why does that even matter? No one deserves to be tortured and experimented on.
But how was Adin supposed to know that any of these things could happen to him? No one really explained to him how the supernatural world works. My Mouth was literally hanging open.
And he decides to go back to his lover a man that violated his trust in the worst way. I kept hoping he would leave in the dust Donte but sadly that didn’t happen. I can’t remember the last time a book made me this furious.
I usually really enjoy Z.A. Maxfield's books. I'm kind of shocked they wrote this though.
