Historia
Jack Havoc, jail-breaker and knife artist, is on the loose on the streets of London once again. In the faded squares of shabby houses, in the furtive alleys and darkened pubs, the word is out that the Tiger is back in town, more vicious and cunning than ever. It falls to Albert Campion to pit his wits against the killer and hunt him down through the city's November smog before it is too late.

Perhaps the story was good. I can't tell because I found the narrator's attempt to mimic London dialects to be horridly garbled and for the most part unintelligible.

This is probably the best book you will ever download without charge. I can't wait to read Book 2, even if I DO have to pay for it.

The narration was beyond bad
Revisado: 12-08-24
The story was really quite good. But the narration was the worst I've ever heard in an Audible Book, It was like a woman with a strong English accent was just reading out loud. Every character, situation and commentary sounded the same.

A few funny, snarky remarks.
Revisado: 11-27-24
On the whole, I must admit I never felt the characters were in any way realistically depicted. Everyone behaved foolishly at all times. No way I felt any compassion or connection for any of them.

Most every male character in this book is represented as constantly making sexist remarks and offensive sexual overtones to the main character. She is really portrayed as a tool, IMO.

The Best San Francisco Thriller I've Read
Revisado: 05-22-23
As a native San Franciscan, I critique any publication taking place in my hometown more harshly than it often warrants.
That being said, The Voice Inside, serves as an esoteric guidebook to the unique essence of our neighborhoods. In addition, the story is superb. White knuckles, unexpected twists and turns, made this a 10 hour ride I couldn't stop listening to. Definitely recommend!

Compelling and spell binding do not begin to describe this title. One can mentally experience the scenes just listening to the audible series of events. I stayed up an entire night to find out how the episode resoled itself. Superb on every level.

Definitely for a young audience. Far too long. A litany of redundant teenage issues surrounding demons, witches and warlocks on the Sunset Strip.. Too much focus on everyone being gorgeous with super hair. Fair enough, It's LA.

La Plante's writing and research is always excellent, but I lost interest in following all the assorted plots and profiles. Perhaps British penitentiary protocol is not a compelling topic for me....
