Historia
Laurie is sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend: the man from the bus.

Sort of meh
Revisado: 12-06-22
The ending was sweet but honestly I’m confused by all the good reviews. The main characters are often pretty pathetic and the initial incident which sort of spurs the story on is unremarkable. It’s easy listening if that’s what you’re looking for but quickly forgettable. There are better Christmasy books out there.

Historia
Connie Goodwin is an expert on America’s fractured past with witchcraft. A young, tenure-track professor in Boston, she’s earned career success by studying the history of magic in colonial America - especially women’s home recipes and medicines - and by exposing society's threats against women fluent in those skills. But beyond her studies, Connie harbors a secret: She is the direct descendant of a woman tried as a witch in Salem, an ancestor whose abilities were far more magical than the historical record shows.

Just not that interesting of a story
Revisado: 10-09-20
I typically like books like this but it took me ages to get into it and then not much happened. There were a few interesting parts that seemed to be just left unexplained and the climax wasn’t terribly exciting. I think Katherine Howe is a good writer the pacing was just really off.
