Great magical story
Revisado: 11-22-24
It was a great magic story about brujas. I see that some people have stated the narrator was not good, but I don’t think that’s true. I’m originally from Mexico so Spanish is my first language and I think she was great.

Great life story
Revisado: 10-18-24
I really liked te book. One thing that really hit for me were the first words the author says in the prologue. How Latinos want to blame white people for everything without taking responsibility for their actions. I’m also disgusted by how these people don’t care for the lives of children and innocent people. I understand that family dynamics can be hard but we all have a choice and we can make better choices in life without having victimhood mentality and without having to be part of gangs.

Outstanding story
Revisado: 07-19-24
I have so much to share about what I liked about this book. I’m from Mexico and I grew up in Toluca! When I first heard the author mentioning Toluca and described it, it brought so many memories. I grew up in Toluca in the 80’s and 90’s and I left for the same explanation the author gives.
I also spent time in Mexico City.
It was a sad story, I have one sister too and it would be extremely sad to not have her in my life. What a journey. I laughed. I cried and I was taken back to my childhood and teenage years growing up in Toluca and Mexico City.
It’s sad to know everything that’s happening to women in my beloved country.
Thank you for sharing your story.

Historia
Leslie Marmon Silko's sublime Ceremony is almost universally considered one of the finest novels ever written by an American Indian. It is the poetic, dreamlike tale of Tayo, a mixed-blood Laguna Pueblo and veteran of World War II. Tormented by shell shock and haunted by memories of his cousin who died in the war, Tayo struggles on his impoverished reservation. After turning to alcohol to ease his pain, he strives for a better understanding of who he is.

Not a good book
Revisado: 07-06-24
The narrator was amazing. When I first started listening I was confused with the story. Many characters show up throughout the story without context. I forced myself to keep listening because I thought at some point the story was going to get better. I read other reviews that really resonated with me. The story is confusing. This is the first time I listen to a book and I feel extremely dissatisfied with it. It was free, so I’m happy I did not pay for this.
It is honestly not a good book. Not trying to be negative but the author who wrote it had no idea of what she was doing.
If you see this review. Please pick something else, it was the worse 6 hours I ever spent listening to a book.
The narrator was great though. I would definitely listen to other books narrated by him.
