Historia
When summoned to a fantastical world and granted powers by a broken System, most freshly minted protagonists would strap on their big-boy boots and get ready for their stats to start climbing. But Fischer isn't like most MCs. In fact, he doesn't want to be a hero at all. Fame? Fortune? Power? He had enough of all that in his old life. Discovering forbidden fishing techniques and petting every cute animal that comes within scritching distance? Now that's a good time.

Nice slow build and epic narration.
Revisado: 08-12-24
this may have been a little bit dense and meta to start off as my first game lit or lit RPG; at times it feels like I'm on the outside of an inside joke, and the commentary can become kind of meta. but otherwise, the story was a nice slow build with interesting characters and world. and the narration is epic, really makes the characters come to life. I guess it makes sense, I believe this narrator has narrated for some lit RPGs before, so you know you're in good hands.

While we’ve made progress on social equity, some workplaces still don’t operate in the most inclusive ways. And when bias and discrimination, whether explicit or implicit, go unresolved, they disrupt not just our health and productivity, but that of our entire organization. Navigating Bias at Work is designed to help you work and thrive in places where bias runs rampant.

For the majority of people, the ability to visualize images - such as a sunrise - seems straightforward and can be accomplished "on demand". But, for potentially some two percent of the population, conjuring up an image in one’s mind’s eye is not possible; attempts to visualize images just bring up darkness. Although identified back in the 19th century, aphantasia remained under the radar for more than a century, and it was not until recently that it has been rediscovered and reexamined.

Definitely informative.
Revisado: 01-16-23
This book was useful as somebody who has this condition, though I feel like I have a lesser form, maybe hypophantasia, understand that there is a wide spectrum between people who have it, and people who don't. though the story was all right, it is just a bunch of accounts, and the performance can seem quite dry and slow at times, if you listen at 1.5x speed it's much better.

Now, most people have heard of ADHD and know someone who may have it. But lost in the discussion of both childhood and adult diagnosis of ADHD is the potential upside: Many hugely successful entrepreneurs and highly creative people attribute their achievements to ADHD. Also unknown to most are the recent research developments, including innovations that give a clearer understanding of the ADHD brain in action.

A great listen, and a great help.
Revisado: 12-28-22
I have a friend who has really bad ADHD, I picked up this book to see if I could at least help them around a bit, or at least better understand them. I've got to say that this book does that, and so much more, while remaining entertaining, enlightening, but most of all short, so I can show it to my friend.

For any task you might want to do, there's a right way, a wrong way, and a way so monumentally complex, excessive, and inadvisable that no one would ever try it. How To is a guide to the third kind of approach. It's full of highly impractical advice for everything from landing a plane to digging a hole.

Absurd and Scientific to no fault.
Revisado: 09-28-22
Not only easy to digest, but still weird, wacky and wise in that way that satisfies the wanderlust for science, and the need for chaos above all else. Will, as always, was an amazing reader, and one of the perfect modes to listen to this amazing book. if you're into science, and absurd answers, you'll love this book.
