Lisa Wingate takes each story she writes and puts you right there in the very place she has imagined you to be. I love this series and how She writes stand alone novels but also places your favorite characters back in there so that you may check up on them from time to time. I am so glad I came across her as now I can’t get enough of her stories thanks Lisa

Historia
It begins on the shaded town square in a sleepy Southern town. A spirited seven-year-old has a brisk business at her lemonade stand. But the little girl’s pretty yellow dress can’t quite hide the ugly scar on her chest. Her latest customer, a bearded stranger, drains his cup and heads to his car, his mind on a boat he's restoring at a nearby lake. The stranger understands more about the scar than he wants to admit. And the beat-up bread truck careening around the corner with its radio blaring is about to change the trajectory of both their lives.

Loved this book but if you’re not medically inclined it may be a little over some people’s heads with some of the language or medical linguistics. It’s a story of love, heartache and second chances and how some people can disappear in their grief in plain sight if that makes sense but it will when you read this warm tale of redemption and triumph for the wonderful characters in Charles Martins story. Thank you sir. I enjoyed this one!

The historical accuracy of Kristin’s book during this time period is spot on. I too was in elementary school and remember the protests. My daddy was in the army but served state side at Fort Carson building NORAD so in a way we were Lucy to not have had to endure the horrors of what these families did

Reba’s genuine spirit. As always She shines through.
Revisado: 01-08-24
This is one of the best autobiographies I have read in a very long time. I grew up in the shadow of Ms. McIntyre and this whole wonderful family watching her barrel race at Ken Lance sports arena and launch her singing career at after rodeo dances in the early 1970’s and as my grandpa sold cattle to Reba’s daddy for many years. They were wonderful people. I still live only a short drive from their family home. Her brother and sister has sat in on many jam sessions with my daddy and his buddies as their Drummer was a mutual friend of Reba’s and Blake Sheltons. I wish Reba and Rex all the best in the coming years and we are so thankful she has found that wonderful soulmate sent from above. Read this wonderful book. Really is better on Audible because you get to hear all the siblings together and each star speak about Reba. It’s like one long pod cast. Great job. You won’t be disappointed.

Historia
Talking about death and dying is considered taboo in polite company, and even in the medical field. Our ideas about dying are confusing at best: Will our memories flash before our eyes? Regrets consume our thoughts? Does a bright light appear at the end of a tunnel? For most people, it will be a slower process, one eased with preparedness, good humor, and a bit of faith. At the forefront of changing attitudes around palliative care is hospice nurse Hadley Vlahos, who shows that end-of-life care can teach us just as much about how to live as it does about how we die.

Revisado: 06-15-23
A must read if you want to understand the love it takes to be a hospice nurse. Hospice nurses are truly a special breed of our profession, so much so that there are only a select few that are able to continue and for this the families such as mine that had to use them for many loved ones continue to do so without a second thought because We know and love them as they became such an important part of our family. Hadley you did a wonderful job in telling your story and I recommend anyone read this well written book and share it with others. Thank you for all that you do as a nursing colleague and a wonderful human being in general. I will remember to eat the cake sister. I hope everyone will remember to as well :)

I have always been a huge fan of Thelma and Louise. My sister and I called each other these characters due to our outrageous funny situations we always found ourselves in everytime we went somewhere. I was Thelma Hers was Louise. I miss her and often watch the movie to remember her since she’s been gone this last 8 years. This book reminded me of those times and adding the kids was a great choice and kept the story alive and real. It reminds the reader there are real life situations out there and two lives can collide when least expected and people are more alike and alone than one realizes.

Enraging

Things the justice system are allowed to do and get away with is infuriating. This series was eye opening to the workings inside CPS and what happens after one such as myself as a mandatory reporter happens to those families. I’m just sick. I’m so glad these two had their children returned but I can tell you I’ve seen many many more from the foster homes they are placed in when they are removed.
