Historia
Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Through an exploration into the nature of the wild woman archetype, Dr. Estes helps listeners rediscover and free their own wild nature.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

Enjoyable Story

Enjoyed the the story and the performance of the Narrator. There was a problem with the production, it would periodically skip particularly at the beginning of the book.

Historia
Since its rise to the highest ranks of power in Renaissance Europe, the Borgia family has developed a scandalous reputation. While they were indeed ostentatious, calculating, worldly, cruel - and even, occasionally, murderous - you may be surprised to find that the Borgias were not terribly different from other powerful and ambitious families of their day. So why has history set them apart as one of the most corrupt and reviled families in history?

I would not have thought I would said this but it was true. I could not focus on this book and ended up ditching it with 1 hour to go. I just could not bear to spend one more hour listening to it.

This particular story was plain fun. It explored the budding relationships of the three Morgan sisters, expanded and concluded some of the other plot lines concerning the eyeballs. Finally, laid the ground work for further fun and adventure.

Want to strangle the character?
Revisado: 02-21-21
Is it a sign of good writing that you become so involved in a story that you want to strangle one of the characters or is it a sign of dysfunction? Claire’s mother is a piece of work. I had to stop listening periodically just because I was getting angry at the character. Silly, I know, but apparently it was so well written, or I related too well to the character that I needed a time out.

The infamous Dodd murders are hardly among Eastport's proudest legacies. So when bestselling true-crime author Carolyn Rathbone arrives to research the case for a new book, the locals in the seaside town let her know that she's about as welcome as a spoiled clam. But surely no one would harm a crime writer out of a sense of civic pride--or would they?

I enjoy these stories. The characters are fun, maybe a little corny, and sometimes gets my adrenaline going. I’m sure you all would be happy to know that I want to reach out and smack Detective Hawk for his misogynistic behavior towards the heroine. It only means that you have done your job well, Engaging my imagination and emotions.

Wonderful Writing and Story
Revisado: 01-01-21
The author has a imaginative way with words using everyday English with an intelligent twist showing that the “local bumpkin” has more going on than is immediately apparent. The old saying “you can’t judge a book by its cover” comes to mind. It has been a pleasure to listen to this book.
The performances by the reader was well done adding depth to an already well written story. I’ll be looking for other books written by Sarah Graves and narrated by Lindsay Ellison.
