Wow...Wow....Wow

After this, I dont think ive ever been as excited for a sequel. The story here is superb and you feel everything happening deep in your gut. It is awful and incredible at the same time. The narration....well, its R.C Bray. That man could make a book about dog poop the most gripping thing youve ever heard so when paired woth a great action packed story like this. Just wow. Book 2 cant come soon enough.

Riveting Story, Incredible Narration

So, I've listened to the entire Extinction Cycle series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and the Extinction Survival series by Walt Browning. Both are incredible pieces of story telling. This bit of work by Adrian Smith is no exception. He has done an incredible job capturing what life would be like in this universe as a average civilian rather then a trained soldier. Raphael Corkhill is a AAA narrator who nails the soul of the characters perfectly. I would hands down recommend to anyone thinking about giving this a try to go for it, though I would recommend starting with the original Extinction Cycle series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. That way you really have a grasp on what is happening in this universe. I only have one critique and THIS WILL BE A SPOILER FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T YET LISTENED TO THE BOOK. Now, I am only on book 2 of the 3 book box set so this may change. In the original series and the take off by Walt Browning, if you are cut or injured by a Variant the you yourself are going to turn into one of them. A single drop of infected blood entering your system will turn you within hours. In this series however there are people being eviscerated, stabbed limbs completely severed from the body by the creatures and surviving without infection. That is not really true to the originals or the Extinction Universe but that however does not take from the story. It only decreases the risk/danger the characters are in, in my opinion. Otherwise, you have done an incredible job here Adrian and Raphael and I would pay twice the price I did for these books. WELL DONE!!!

Short but Impressive

I have only just begun my journey into the world of Warhammer. Staring with Helsreach then Hunger and now this. Although Helsreach was the only full length story these shorts are incredible and worth the small price to pay. What makes the shorts different are the way they add music and subtle sound effects to really bring the stories to life and in my opinion this should be the norm for all audiobooks as it increases your ability to become immersed in the story. In short, for three dollars this is an exceptional listen and more then worth it for newcomers to the Warhammer world and veterans alike!

Incredibly captivating!

I've been following Jack Kemper/John Dempsy and the gang since the first installment and have been captivated every since. This is the benchmark of story telling concieved by Brian Andrew's and Jeffery Wilson. Ray Porter puts on a clinic for other aspiring narrators and professionals alike. In short this series and especially this installment absolutely necessary for anyone who enjoys stories of war and hardships. The only issue I have is that I can only rate 5 stars!

This is an incredible experience no sci-fi fan should miss. the story is amazing. The narration is top-notch. every book from this series and the Xaros series is A class and this author deserves every award available. The only downside is when you listen to the final book and have to wait for the next release! Worth every penny.

Incredible series!

Richard Fox has written a series here that absolutely captivates you from the begining. Luke Daniels narrates every word in a manner that brings the entire story to life! The man has 1000 voices in his body. It is nothing short of astonishing when you bring the talents of both together. From the start of book 1 to the end of book 7 so far has been packed to the brim with heart stopping action. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking on this series. You wont regret the purchases!
