Historia
It's 1952, and Jasper isn't allowed to ask questions or make a fuss. He's lucky to even have a home and must keep his mouth shut and his ears open to stay in his uncle's good graces. No one knows where his mother went or whether she's coming back. Desperate to see her again, he must take matters into his own hands. From the farm, he embarks on a treacherous search that will take him to the squalid hideaways of Detroit and back again, through tawdry taverns, peep shows, and gambling houses.

Repetitive and Not As Engaging
Revisado: 05-24-23
I liked the book at the beginning but as I read parts of it myself as I listened, the plot was not as good. It’s repetitive nature and uncharted ramblings left me disenchanted. I appreciated the ending as it brought things to a conclusion. However I found it generally choppy.

Historia
Jack Nightingale fights his battles in the shadows - in the grey areas where the real world meets the supernatural. But when he arrives in San Francisco to take on a group of Satanists bent on opening a doorway to hell, the danger is out in the open and all too real. The Apostles - a Satanic coven using murder and torture to pave the way for a demon to enter the real world - realise that Nightingale is on their tail and unleash their own brand of monsters to take him down.

Jack Nightingale Rules The Night
Revisado: 04-19-17
This first stint in the USA for Jack is first rate. The goodness he fights for saves kids. And in what suspenseful and sometimes frightening ways yet so charming and BOLD as always. So Stephen Leather reigns supreme over satanic forces yet again. And this reader/listener remains very much enthralled.

Historia
A killer is murdering Goths with relish - skinning and butchering them. The cops aren’t getting anywhere so Jack Nightingale’s nemesis, Superintendent Chalmers, asks him for help. Nightingale discovers that the murdered Goths had one thing in common: a tattoo connected to the secretive, Satanic, child-sacrificing cult called the Order Of Nine Angles. As Nightingale closes in on the killers, the tables are turned and he finds himself in the firing line, along with his friends and family. The Order will stop at nothing to protect their secrets and Nightingale realises that there is nothing he can do to protect himself.

The Fascination Continues
Revisado: 04-08-17
As per all the books so far, Mr. Leather does not disappoint. On the contrary: this series of books follows Jack Nightingale's story fluently despite the fluctuations in his life in this fascinating series of events. The suspense is exciting and specially in the audiobooks the humor comes through as well as the horror. I sincerely look forward to Jack's continued cases and affectations by the demonic sources he encounters as he battles to continue his various life projects, travels and relationships.

Historia
Uttered by the abusive father of a nine-year-old girl, that phrase ended Jack’s career as a police negotiator and has been haunting him ever since. Now that he is a struggling private detective, those words return with a vengeance when he inherits a mansion - and some terrifying information. Apparently Jack’s soul was sold at birth, and a devil will come to claim it on his thirty-third birthday just weeks away. It’s a hard pill to swallow, given that Jack doesn’t believe in hell (heaven, either).

Stunning!!
Revisado: 03-20-17
This book, specially in it's audible form kept me so riveted that I stayed awake listening to it all weekend. I cried, shivered, laughed a bit here and there, and with wonderful imagination pictured all characters. Specially Nightingale who is the key character. I believe in certain things mentioned so they were brought home to me all the more: such as the power of good over evil and how evil can be misguided and misused. What a fantastic and lyrical read. Truly enjoyable with all emotions turned up!
