Historia
When COVID-19 sweeps through New York City, Jamie Gray is stuck as a dead-end driver for food-delivery apps. That is, until Jamie makes a delivery to an old acquaintance, Tom, who works at what he calls “an animal rights organization”. Tom’s team needs a last-minute grunt to handle things on their next field visit. Jamie, eager to do anything, immediately signs on. What Tom doesn't tell Jamie is that the animals his team cares for are not here on Earth. Not our Earth, at at least. In an alternate dimension, dinosaur-like creatures named Kaiju roam a warm and human-free world.

pop song
Revisado: 02-15-25
lime most pop songs...this is funny energetic and will make you smile. it's a little cheesy, but that is a large part of the books charm. if you want a fun story to get lost in...thus is a good choice.

Historia
Nine hundred light-years from home, Major Andrew Grayson and the crew of NACS Washington are marooned in a sunless system with limited water, reactor fuel, and food. The last hope for survival is to go where nothing human has gone before. After embarking on a scouting mission to the only moon with surface signs of life, Andrew and his Special Tactics Team make two startling discoveries. One is a dream: a form of protein and plant life that could save the starving humans in the rogue system. The second is a nightmare: this harvested rock is infested with Lankies.

the non military story line... this story is a favorite of mine.
Revisado: 05-19-24
I will re-listen to series when I don't know what to listen to and jm waiting on my monthly credits.
I would LOVE to have a few more books. maybe explore Lankys. like what they saw on the dark planet.
or even a spin off. with the 4 Andrew picket to go to renegades stronghold and retrieve the assets that were stolen. (sorry can't remember all the names...Hanson, Breanna...)

Historia
Welcome to the darkest night of the Zulu Alpha, where every loyalty is tested, every moral calculus impossible, and every price paid too costly to be borne. The world's last nuclear supercarrier strike group and its exhausted Marine Raider guardians must now range from the coast of fallen America to an unavoidable date with destiny at the farthest northern point of Australia, to the enclosed and exploding death zone of the world's largest offshore oil field – knowing that everywhere, at all times, absolutely everything will be on the line.

The narrator is, as always, the best!
Revisado: 03-15-24
I love this world. I love the original story line. so when I saw this spin off I was excited. and over all its really good.
BUT....(lol) the main character in this story line, Yaz...well he is a fucking complaining, annoying, self centered cry baby.
I mean seriously I can't stand this guy. Whaf makes it so fucking unlikeable is the fact that its all in his head, but because he is so self centered he has convinced himself that every one hates him and he will never fit in with the people on the boat, let alone his team of Marines, and evey death and injury is all his fault. (only like 1 maybe 2 actually hate him)
I am having a hard time getting through this series. ..but I have come this far so I'll push on through.
Honestly...
If it wasn't for some of the other characters from the original story line I would habe asked for my money back.
I hope to God that Yaz gets killed off, just so I don't have to listen to his fucking complaining and self pity.

Historia
Lieutenants Lance Baker and Sofia Jimenez saved Earth in the fateful battle against the aliens who’d been intent on its destruction. But there’s a problem: One of the enemy carriers got away. Not only that, but it jumped to a star that’s out of reach of Terran jump technology, and it’s probably going for reinforcements. The final battle to save Earth resulted in the destruction of most of Terra’s defensive forces, and Lance and Sofia still have no idea what’s waiting for them among the stars.

Finally
Revisado: 10-18-23
Finally, in a military sci-fi book series, somebody mentioned the Seabees, which is so awesome. Since I am a former Seabee, I've always wondered why nobody ever talks about them. Like they talk about all the special forces and all other types of specialized ratings, but I've never heard anybody even talk about the Seabees, so that was very, very satisfying. Thank you.

6 or 7 of the short stories were surprising touching. (and yes, more than 1 made me cry)
I was pleasantly surprised but this book. I enjoyed it much more than I was expecting to.

Bray vs. Porter
Revisado: 06-22-21
love the story and the characters in it....but I agree Porter sounds board while reading it.
I just finished Project Hail Mary, (OMG it's a must read, I mean it. EVERY ONE, EVERY ONE! NEED TO LISTEN TO THAT BOOK.) which was preformed by Porter. He did an amazing job narrating it that I was excited to hear him in this book.
but Takeover is a Noverber Golf. (as far as narrator goes.
maybe try Jeffrey Kafer. omg he has a wonder voice (Star Force by Jeremy Robbins is my go to book when I can't find anything new...lol)
thanks for reading my review.
(oh...last book I'm going to recommend is the expeditionary Force series by Craig Alanson. with out a doubt it is the funniest thing I have ever read, watched or listened to. )

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

wonderfully engaging worlds. main characters are (as main characters should be) easy to fall in love with. but it's the 2nd and 3rd (and so on) characters that take these books from being just a story on paper to a new reality in your heart. I want more stories on the 2nd and 3rd (and so on) characters. PLEASE Laini.
