Good story, but new narrator

Loved the story, and the narrator did a great job. But it was a bit interesting to hear a British accent from the main character, at least I think it was a British accent. Not sure if the new narrator was Irish, Scott’s, Welsh or English, but her accent gave Loose Goose and Bri a more authentic sounding Irish accent. I guess I am just use to Clair’s accent and tone of voice, it’s just always difficult when there is a character recasting or in this case narrator change.

Good story, meah narration!

Loved the overall story line of this romance as it has it all, crime, mystery, tragedy, heartache, hope, love, reflection and joy. The only thing dragging this book down, is the narration which sounds like it was ram through a voice synth to obscure the narrator’s voice. Which causes it have a flat monologue sound that lacks the emotion of an actual human voice, which IMO causes me to think the narrator was forcing themselves to read a story they had trouble getting into character for.

Not a good start

I have read other books by this author, and found them surprisingly good. Sadly this one does not start off that way, so I am not sure it will end much better. But this book not only has a rough start, it’s start reads almost as it was wrote by a man who is over compensating for his own insecurities by bragging about his conquest in bed. Which is not how this authors other books start off. It’s start also touches on subject mater that is very off putting, which IMO will cause most to put the book down to find a better book like 50 shades of Gray. Rolls eyes.

Definitely one that fits Samual L Jackson.

I had heard about this book, from some show that had Samual L Jackson on it talking about this book. I have to say this is 100% everything he said it was and was not. And definitely fits his tough dad personal, that was probably not fake. Anyway loved listening too this book, but doubt I ever get to read it to my grand child or great nieces. But I will probably buy it in hard cover for my personal library.

This was not my usual type of read, but was a pleasure to read none the less. So was a good space thriller I guess, since the word that describes this type of story in English escapes me. But I would call it a olathe ogin of a story.

Lots to think about

This book is very informative, and provides clear information about starting narration of audio books. It is easy to understand thanks to Charles Thornton’s attention to detail, as well as use of a clear method of speech. And does not use a copy and past method to provide information. If you are honestly considering narrating audio books, then I would recommend this book. If you are not serious about narrating audio books, or at least learning to narrate then I would simple suggest looking for another book.

So real

This story is so touching with its realism, that it brought tears to my eyes. While I am not Russian this story makes me wonder what family members who lived and fought in WWII, went through. And it brings me back to the stories that Ana use to tell me, about her life as a German Jew in the concentration camps.

I actually enjoy the holiday book from Audible, regardless of the theme of the book. As it’s just nice to hear the stories, from the narrators even if it’s just them telling a short story or snippets of their lives. It would be nice to get one for New Years as well, on their wishes and plans for the next year.
