Surprised
Revisado: 04-13-22
I wasn’t certain that I was going to like this. I started it twice, but the narrator’s bugged me. But the third time it was not an issue for me (state of mind thing I’m certain) and once I started listening, I really did enjoy it. It didn’t end the way I wanted, but the ending made me wanting more of this character. Enjoyed it

Historia
From day one, the truth behind JFK's assassination has been mired in controversy and dispute. The Warren Commission, established just seven days after Kennedy's death, delved into the who, what, when, and where of the tragedy, and over the course of the following year compiled an 889-page report that arrived at the now widely contested conclusion: Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin. In Who Really Killed Kennedy?, Jerome R. Corsi, Ph.D., provides listeners with the ultimate JFK assassination theory book.

JFK’s death made me a True Crime Follow
Revisado: 08-28-21
Preface, I was in the Chicago train station eating lunch when my mother cried out. She saw the shooting on the TV in the cafe. I was 6. Since that time I have read numerous True Crime stories, and this murder began that journey.
This murder has always been with me. I never believed in the pristine bullet, nor a single shooter. This gives cites to exhibits, testimony and other archived materials, where portions were ignored either during the initial investigation or during the Warren Commission inquiry. There were moments of repetitiveness, but not often enough for me to complain about. Enjoyed the author’s research.

Loved it thank you Jesse Watters
Revisado: 08-03-21
It is totally a Jesse Watters personality that comes through. I have thought enjoyed the book. A little disappointed with the mom text chapter, but moms are moms, and his responses respectful. I had no issue with the reader. I thought he captured Mr Watters perfectly with inflections. Thanks again

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

Interesting
Revisado: 05-15-15
I liked this trilogy. It had several twists I did not see coming. The ending I thought was a bit lame. I understand the logic of the way the ending was written, I just expected a little more. I look forward to reading more of Mr Crouch's works.

The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer's career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track - until the recession hits and she gets downsized, furloughed, escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is one of the "lucky" associates. She's offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, after which there would be a slim chance that she'd get her old job back. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about.

It was fine. The narrator was just that. Kept it simple with no difference on the tone or voices. Not as enjoyable as some but still an okay book.

A Very Good History of the Dust Bowl!
Revisado: 10-26-13
Where does The Worst Hard Time rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It is pretty high on my list.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Worst Hard Time?
The rabbits -- it put images in my head that have stuck
Have you listened to any of Patrick Lawlor and Ken Burns (introduction) ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Unknown facts of the dirty Thirties.
Any additional comments?
I purchased this on sale. It was well worth the $3.95 I paid for it. I thought the narration was good, and although depressing, the history was well written, and the book flowed well. I suggest reading it.

Historia
In a case that spans 20 years, Harry Bosch links the bullet from a recent crime to a file from 1992, the killing of a young female photographer during the L.A. riots. Harry originally investigated the murder, but it was then handed off to the Riot Crimes Task Force and never solved. Now Bosch's ballistics match indicates that her death was not random violence, but something more personal, and connected to a deeper intrigue. Like an investigator combing through the wreckage after a plane crash, Bosch searches for the "black box", the one piece of evidence that will pull the case together.

Revisado: 12-24-12
Where does The Black Box rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top half and I have red a lot if books
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No. It was an average story. I did not feel the drama in this book that I have in his past books.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably the birthday scene. The author nailed the daughter perfectly
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes the interaction between Bosch and his daughter. I thought those were spot on
Any additional comments?
Bosch walked on eggshells with his boss. Not what I thought he would do

Another Awesome Read
Revisado: 11-28-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
It is a current situation story. Yes, it does take place some years ago, but the CIA is working with terrorism and therefore, it is a current subject. I moves along, with little to no lag. Kept me listening.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lion?
the character Assad was very interesting in the way he performed his retribution on the Americans that killed his family. He was there without actually being noticed. I like that -- it made the story very compellilng
Which scene was your favorite?
Ted Nash getting shot. I thought he was a total ass.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
John Corey to the Rescue!
Any additional comments?
DeMille writes some very good books. I have read all of the John Corey books. Each one was very good. This one was one of my favorites because there was so much activity. It kept my mind jumping.

Good but
Revisado: 03-02-12
If you could sum up Catch Me in three words, what would they be?
Good, confusing, suspenseful
Who was your favorite character and why?
I am not sure I had a favorite. DD seemed a little whiney this go round So maybe Alex was may favorite
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
It would have made a big difference if the narrator would have distinguished the voices better. I would be listening to DD Warren and the narrator would transition to the other character with out missing a beat. I was unable to notice the switch until she said her name ir relived some part of the childhood memory, etc. It was frustrating to keep having to rewind and start again with the correct character in my head. I feel like listened to this book twice and sometimes three times just to get it right -- the first time through
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
I am uncertain
Any additional comments?
The story itself was a good twisted tale. Improvement from the narrator would have made the story much more enjoyable.
