Historia
When Victor is called to meet with an old friend who ultimately betrayed him, what he thought was an ambush is in fact a plea for help. As a Russian gangster, Norimov is accustomed to death threats, but now an unknown enemy wants more than his life. They intend to kill everyone he cares about, including his missing daughter Gisele. This time, Victor's job is not to kill but to protect. Unfortunately, locating Gisele is his first mistake - because someone is watching his every move.

Great Story, Giselle was annoying
Revisado: 01-18-25
Victor is as always, great. He's such a fascinating combination of cerebral and brutal. Giselle as a character concept was interesting but the amount of petulant and childish arguments and tantrums from her was distracting in places.
I routinely relisten to these books but when I do I sometimes fast forward through some parts, like when she's complaining about how Victor is a big meanie or the part where she takes off her seat belt while Victor is speeding away from a warehouse where a kill team just shot down 4 of her friends.
I mean, they both almost died, Victor saved her life, and despite the necessity of getting away she takes her belt off so if he has to slam on the brakes or ram a chasing vehicle she could be injured or worse, all to force him to slow down. Never mind that he's clearly an expert and their lives are in incredible danger. No, she has to do the equivalent of a child holding their breath until they pass out to make Mom and Dad do what they want.
It really irritated me that she would play games with her own life just minutes after 5 men risked theirs to save hers, with 4 of them actually losing theirs (Thanks for dying to save my life, now I'm going to play silly games with it). How about you honor their sacrifice instead of acting like a baby? And it's all for no better reason than she doesn't like Victor driving so fast (remember they JUST escaped and for all they knew, pursuit was hit on their heels).
Anyways, they need to bring the rest of this series to the US. We're like 4 books behind at this point and despite my complaints, every book so far has been a banger.

Excellent production, not as excellent story direction
Revisado: 08-05-23
Loved the first season, but confusingly this season spends a lot of time on an awkward (in my opinion) love story subplot.
it's a post apocalyptic future dominated by powerful vampires. Don't you think they have more important (and interesting) things to cover than a high-school-esque romance subplot? it doesn't matter whether it's lesbians or any variation thereof. It was just distracting to me and I kept wishing they'd get back to the post apocalyptic vampire stuff.
Eventually I lost interest and haven't finished it.
Maybe the story gets back to the good stuff and I should give it another go. I do love the world building, the voice acting, and overall production values; so maybe I will give it another chance. I just saw too few people mentioning this, so I thought I'd better. If the subsequent seasons focus more on the stuff I think is more interesting, I'll definitely get back into it.

Historia
From executive producers of The Walking Dead and Travis Beacham, the writer of Pacific Rim, comes a heart-stopping Audible Original featuring a brilliant British cast. It’s the near future and seven years since a comet hit the earth and blotted out the sun. The world is a dark, frozen landscape. And then, beastly creatures emerge and take over. A story of apocalypse, horror, and adventure, Impact Winter is a wholly original new saga created just for Audible with immersive 3D audio that dares you to pop in your earbuds and listen in the dark.

Enjoyed the sounds effects and music. The multiple narrators took a little while to get used to, but I quickly came to appreciate it. Story was interesting. I liked this book very much, and the performances made it even better. I'm looking forward to the next installment which I hope is coming soon. Definitely recommended. Did I mention I can't wait for the next one?

So far, so pretty good?
Revisado: 02-19-22
Not going to lie, Alaric is a bit of a Mary Sue. Only a few hours in, so maybe he'll grow on me. Story in general is interesting and narration is good.
Side note, we really need more battletech novels, please. Don't bother with abridged versions though. Full novels only, please.

Loved it, wish you two would write more stories like these. Wouldn't even have to be the same characters (but thatd be great), just more books in that world.

pretty good story
Revisado: 09-05-15
Pretty good story hampered by preachy message. A vampire and a zombie discussing the (debunked) gender wage gap? Seriously? The world is being overrun by murderous mythical creatures and they sit around discussing gender studies talking points?
