How elementary the writing was
Revisado: 04-03-25
Narrator felt like virtual voice but I don’t know if it was because the text was just that bad. All the problems that had no build up just magically deliciously got wrapped in a bow. It was a good plot with terrible execution.

This is a nicely done cozy that doesn’t feel so cookie cutter. You just have to get over the narration .

Historia
Everyone has a story to tell. But does Janice have the power to unlock her own? She can’t recall what started her collection. Maybe it was in a fragment of conversation overheard as she cleaned a sink? Before long (as she dusted a sitting room or defrosted a fridge) she noticed people were telling her their stories. Perhaps they had always done so, but now it is different, now the stories are reaching out to her and she gathers them to her.

Surprisingly wonderful
Revisado: 09-24-24
My favorite book of this month’s reading. It illustrates the nuances of humans that in everyday life is so hard to see. The very last part of the ending was a little fairy tale but I think the author put it there more out of humor then as a true part of the story… again nuances!

Good cozy
Revisado: 02-01-24
I enjoyed the feeling of Noire but still had a cozy storyline. Really enjoyed the smart detective instead of the troupe incompetent one. Not a book that you carry with you but one that gets you through the nitty gritty of the day.

Historia
Patricia Campbell's life has never felt smaller. Her ambitious husband is too busy to give her a goodbye kiss in the morning, her kids have their own lives, her senile mother-in-law needs constant care, and she's always a step behind on thank-you notes and her endless list of chores. The one thing she has to look forward to is her book club, a close-knit group of Charleston women united by their love of true crime and paperback fiction. At these meetings they're as likely to talk about the Manson family as they are marriage, motherhood, and neighborhood gossip.

Very well written and captivating story
Revisado: 09-13-22
I truly enjoy books that use the contrast of supernatural to show the nuances of humanity. This book does it beautifully. It runs parallel to the “true Blood” series but highlighting the peaks and valleys of mothers.

Eye opening
Revisado: 06-30-22
There are many take aways from this book. You can focus on keeping toxic people away from you no matter what their rank in your life is. Or how it is always better to be true to yourself... and so many other self help examples to identify with. But the highlight of Puerto Rico’s history was my favorite. I had so many PR friends and never knew their struggle .

Lacy Marie Crocker can hardly believe it's been a year since her return home to New Orleans. Surprisingly Good!
Revisado: 05-02-22
I was expecting a very fluff story given the main characters line of work. I like cozys and needed to wait until my next credit, so I gave it a try. The only thing I didn’t like about all 4 books was her line of work- I just can’t relate even though I adore my dogs- but the story was good, the mystery wasn’t obvious and the narrator did a great job.
Strongly suggest for that cozy escape we all know and love!
