Excellent resource and examination into the spiritual disciplines
Revisado: 08-16-24
This was a great refreshment on the disciplined life. It gives Biblical foundation for each discipline as well as practical application methods. Each chapter reminds us not to elevate the discipline higher than it ought, demonstrating full understanding of our human nature. It ends in celebration…a beautiful way to harmonize the disciplines.

Historia
In virtually every way that can be measured, Gen Z’s mental health is worse than that of previous generations. Youth suicide rates are climbing, antidepressant prescriptions for children are common, and the proliferation of mental health diagnoses has not helped the staggering number of kids who are lonely, lost, sad and fearful of growing up. What’s gone wrong with America’s youth? In Bad Therapy, bestselling investigative journalist Abigail Shrier argues that the problem isn’t the kids—it’s the mental health experts.

An honest look at our generation
Revisado: 06-11-24
Even if you don’t agree with her conclusions, it’s hard to dismiss the blatant disregard of true wellness in the midst of a drugged and dreary culture. Parents, myself chiefly among them, are urged to consider an honest evaluation of practices that have become commonplace in the 21st century and that border on absolute inhibition of advancing our society forward in any meaningful way.

Historia
Many people will remember Eric Liddell as the Olympic gold medalist from the Academy Award-winning film Chariots of Fire. Famously, Liddell would not run on Sunday because of his strict observance of the Christian Sabbath, and so he did not compete in his signature event, the 100 meters, at the 1924 Paris Olympics. He was the greatest sprinter in the world at the time, and his choice not to run was ridiculed by the British Olympic committee, his fellow athletes, and most of the world press.

inspirational TRUE story
Revisado: 01-16-23
An inspirational true story of a selfless servant with theological integrity. This is a great read for a wide range of ages. I bought a copy for my 13 year old.
