Historia
In London, a new kind of criminal is on the loose...one who seems to be making a game of collecting his victims' eyes and setting them free to wander the streets blind. And then the game turns deadly. Detective Erica Swift knows the case will steal time from her family, but she has no choice. The psychopath must be stopped. But a chance encounter drags a horrific event in Erica's past to collide with her present. The murderer has one thing on their mind…. Revenge. And now Erica's name might be on the killer's list.

Well done
Revisado: 03-19-25
I can't exactly say I enjoyed the book because content and story line are police-y and sad. But I happen to be someone who likes this kind of book. Good story, interesting characters and very well performed by this narrator. Would be happy to listen to the next book by this author.

I liked it
Revisado: 03-17-25
It was a different kind of story- good characters and developed mostly well. Several spots that seemed to go on longer than necessary and a few so repetitive I had to skip a bit. But for the most part, I enjoyed it and a lot of that was possible because of narrator. She's one of the pros.

Newly divorced and romantically pessimistic, Ian Pratchett doesn't know why he's been set up with Penny Parker. She's unrelentingly positive, utterly superstitious, and sexually inexperienced - everything Ian is not. But when sparks fly between them, Ian sees the possibility of a life he'd given up hoping for...with a woman he would never have expected.

What a fun book!
Revisado: 03-08-25
The characters were fun to follow and the story overall was enjoyable. I am completely enamored with the narrator. He can seriously make you laugh with his delivery. Surprisingly so when talking to himself, usually about himself. I didn't think I was going to like this so much. Give it a try- you won't be sorry.

Historia
It is 1969 and Glasgow is in the grip of the worst winter in decades, yet it is something else that has Glaswegians on edge: a serial killer whose name alone is enough to make them tremble with fear. The Quaker has killed another victim, snatching a young woman from a nightclub and dumping her body like trash in the back of a cold-water tenement. He leaves no clues, and the investigation has led police down one blind alley after another.

What a story!
Revisado: 03-01-25
This is definitely a great read but I think, in audiobook, the story was brought to life by the narrator. What a great combination of both. Glad to see there's a 2nd book to go to, but right now I'm searching out titles with Angus King as narrator. He's got a way with words.

Historia
Oscar the cat has a very special skill. An otherwise ordinary cat—he'd sooner give you his back or a sideways glance than curl up on your lap—Oscar has the uncanny ability to predict when people are about to die. Adopted by staff members at Steere House nursing home when he was a kitten, the three year-old cat has presided over the deaths of more than twenty-five nursing home residents thus far.

Wow, an unexpected gem
Revisado: 12-22-21
I just lost my mother to late stage dementia. Though this book cycles widely around Oscar the cat, the whole background story is a number of stories revolving around dementia and Alzheimer's patients and their families. This book validated and explained so many areas that I wasn't clear on all the way through this with my mother. I feel like this book should be available and encouraged reading for anyone going in to. right in the middle of or finished with this terrible process. I can't speak highly enough of this and will share it everywhere available to me. Definitely a one of a kind. THAK YOU!

Just as good as book 1 and left perfectly for a 3rd book. The subject matter wasn't what got me here. Ray Porter, narrator, did. But these 2 books were really good and I look forward to the next. Good story, add time travel, you're in.

Who knew I'd like time travel?
Revisado: 11-25-21
I really only added this book because of the narrator, Ray Porter. The book was secondary to that. I never thought I'd enjoy a book with this kind of subject matter, but I sure did! It was well written and lots of fun to hear. Bonus. And Ray Porter rocks with voices.
