it was pretty good. It all tied together nicely. i liked it -similar story to other books but yet with a new flavor. Dark and magical. Appropriate for ages 11+.

Nice Hunger Games MEETS Iron druid mix

this was really a nice read. it complimented thr first book well. I just cant wait to see how she explains some of thr madness that happens. This book has it all - love, drama, action, girl power- rebellion and more. I enjoyed the ride and am eagerly awaiting the next book.

Okay- I like children's novels at nearly 40. Maybe its because I like to read what my kids read. But this series is simply amazing. The character's spring to life. The reader is really incredible. I feel like I am in Panem. I picked up this series last week- and sped to download the rest after the first novel. This second installment just made me say so worth the credit I spent on this. Often when I read things I think I could have thought of this or that- no way I could have in a million years come up with this trilogy. Breathtaking and wonderful- keep writing and reading Collins and McCormick.

It is a dark ending

I must agree with many of the reviewers thus far, for a book that had so much hope for these characters the end is very dark. I believe for a YA novel it should have had much less darkness than expressed and of course it makes you wonder why the author chose this path. In the previous installments it was clear that Peeta and Katnis' world was never a like those in the capital but their ending and the other characters who the author through the voice of Ms. McCormick really tug at you. I cried the entired novel. It was hard to stop because I kept thinking parts of this must be a dream. I finished the book yesterday evening and when I had nearly an hour left, I felt so down by the story- I almost stopped. I am glad I finished it because it has some bright points at the end. I just wish a few more of the characters I learned to love in this last installment were treated better by the author. An interesting read/listen- not nearly as good as the first two!
