Historia
Grace Reinhart Sachs is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. Devoted to her husband, a pediatric oncologist at a major cancer hospital, their young son Henry, and the patients she sees in her therapy practice, her days are full of familiar things: She lives in the very New York apartment in which she was raised, and sends Henry to the school she herself once attended. Dismayed by the ways in which women delude themselves, Grace is also the author of a book You Should Have Known, in which she cautions women to really hear what men are trying to tell them.

Outstanding! Better than the HBO mini series
Revisado: 03-11-21
This book was outstanding from the first word to the last!! The narrator was excellent! The story moved at a great pace. I saw the mini series on HBO and hoped the book had more details and substance. It really does!! I will read more by this author!!

I will never read this author again
Revisado: 08-05-18
This story was not historically accurate just misery upon misery. I found myself frustrated and angry with the terrible decisions the author chose for the characters. The narrator was horrible trying to portray the various characters. I was determined to finish it and sorry that I did. I love historical fiction but I won’t be able to read or listen to anything else by this authors. Others may love this misery. I did not.

Historia
The year is 1772, and the rift between Britain and its American colonies has put a frightening word into the minds of all concerned: revolution. In the backwoods of North Carolina, violence has already reared its ugly head, as cabins have been burned to the ground. To preserve the colony for King George III, the governor pleads with Jamie to bring the people together and restore peace. But Jamie has the privilege, although some might call it a burden, of knowing that war cannot be avoided.

I was happy about a couple of things...
Revisado: 03-30-18
However, I didn’t enjoy this at all. There was so much to hope for in the beginning, but so many disappointments. I want to enjoy listening to a story not feel overwhelming sadness, distress, and frustration at yet another or repeated problems happening over and over to the same people. THE NARRATOR WAS EXCELLENT!! I think I will just stick to the TV version of this series. I know others love it but it’s too detailed and disturbing for me.

Historia
Casey Cox’s DNA is all over the crime scene. There’s no use talking to police; they’ve failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she’s arrested . . . or worse. The truth doesn’t matter anymore. But what is the truth? That’s the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren’t adding up.

Outstanding, riveting, Excellent
Revisado: 08-29-17
First of all there is nothing that Terri Blackstock does that is not done with excellence. With that being said this book is outstanding. It catches your interest right away, it keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, and the narrator is excellent. I personally waited until the second book was out before starting the first and I'm glad. So I can begin If I'm Found, now!! Excellent work Terri!

Outstanding in every way!!
Revisado: 11-14-15
From the writing by the Author to the reading by the narrators, this book is outstanding! Absolutely flawless. I was lost in the story!! I felt not only like I was actually there watching all that happened but recognized my sinfulness in the greed, jealousy and selfishness of some of the characters. Its so easy to look back and say "I would never have..." But this book makes it clear that we are all sinful and in need of a loving God and more than that, to seek and obey Him!! Listen to this book and enjoy all it has to teach you about yourself. I feel as if I personally met Bathsheba. Kudos to the author.

Great story, But...
Revisado: 10-17-15
I had heard so much about the story. I just couldn't wait to hear it. It really is a wonderful story of redemption, but for me personally, the narration was so difficult to listen to several times I almost gave up listening to it.
The narrator reads at a certain cadence and she never deviates from it so even when she's using her voice to be different people, her pattern is the exact same where she's a little breathy at the end of every sentence and goes up at the same point in every sentence in the book. Again, I loved the story but I will be careful not to purchase anything narrated by Xe Sands.
