Historia
In a near-future dystopia where grief is weaponized and the dead can be resurrected, Project Equilibrium has transformed tragedy into a twisted experiment of control. Narrator on the rise
Revisado: 05-07-25
Christy Foley’s narration is deliberate and steady in this futuristic novel.
The plot itself could be good if not for the AI writing, which gives the same phrases over and over and pushes the same version of conversations over a two plus hour book that could have been an hour.
If you don’t mind AI flowery language and have an interest in government control program stories, you may enjoy this book!

Cute
Revisado: 05-07-25
A cute Christian faith-based story dramatized in a child-centered delivery.
Some will love the music and sound effects. I’m a bit of a minimalist in that regard, but that’s just a personal opinion.
On a story note - this is a perfect example of why having a king or a ruler that is deemed selected by a deity is a terrible idea as that deity may choose to punish the people for a mistake that the ruler makes… Not that this being a bad thing is addressed in this book as it is more of a moral tale from a religious perspective.

Interesting Thought Experiment
Revisado: 04-28-25
This story blurs the line between dementia and fantasy for an adventure in time and addresses the idea of someone making a choice that then propels them down the “right” path for their life.
The narrator did a great job with the tone of the book and voicing the different characters! It was easy to know who was talking and the audio was clear.
Just a note - there is gratuitous casual use of the racial slur for the Romani people. I myself was only made aware that this word was a slur a short number of years ago and it was used a lot in pop culture and American life as I grew up so it may be that not everyone knows that it IS a slur. Something to keep in mind if you wish to listen.

Wonderful Climax and Wrapup
Revisado: 04-17-25
Wow! There was so much happening going into this book that I was a little wary that there would not be time enough to wrap up all of the different plots, but it all worked out!
I was hoping there would be a short convo at some point where Hanna brought up to her mom how when she first saw a ghost she was rebuffed by her bringing it up and how that affected her for years going forward, but that didn't happen and that's ok.
The narrator Jess Wright did an incredible job through the series. It was easy to know which character was speaking the whole time; the action was appropriately intense or subdued; the audio was clear and quality. I had a truly enjoyable listening experience.

Historia
After Halloween night reveals a death close to Hanna, she has to use her ghost powers to rescue some kids from school. While there, she runs into a tall stranger who she later finds out is Mr. Tyler’s nephew, Gryphin. Mr. Tyler and Gryphin enlist Hanna’s help to find a dead werewolf from their pack. It is one thing for Hanna to talk to ghosts when she meets them, it’s quite another for her to go hunting for a specific ghost.

Historia
Now that Hanna has accepted her powers, she and her ghostly best friend Brandon are ready to help another ghost cross over. When a friend at school admits to not being able to sleep well due to some strange wailing she hears at night, Hanna knows this is the job for her. That same day, Caleb asks Hanna to contact a poltergeist. This job seems daunting as she is barely coming to terms with her powers—not to mention still struggling with regular high school issues and newly separated parents.

Teenage Supernatural Drama
Revisado: 03-02-25
I loved listening to this supernatural book! I'm starting book 2 right away!
Told from the perspective of a teenage girl, narrator Jess Wright gives a natural performance with sass, curiosity, and young-person angst. I also love that some of the adult characters have a mid-Atlantic accent. It is fun and fresh. The sound quality is top notch.
Writer Jeni Conrad writes in a way that you understand/remember talking as a teen. The hubris of thinking you know the way to do everything while also having so many questions about the world around you.
Hannah can see ghosts, but until her sophomore year of high school she has avoided getting involved with any of them. Now a ghost teacher in her History classroom is speaking over her teacher who is alive, and she doesn't think she will be able to pass the class if she doesn't do something about it. Addressing this matter opens her eyes to a whole world of the supernatural and the fact that there are a lot more people around her who are not "normal humans". She's a teenager though and can't fight the hormones that keep a large part of her focus on the boys she's crushing on!
Please note that there is an eating disorder plot in this book.

Historia
In an age of sail and cannon, where airships ply the skies instead of oceans, the Barbarian Kingdoms of Madraus are poised to start a war the likes of which the world has never seen, but they’re in for a surprise when they raid 16-year-old Esther’s village. While it’s a bad day for Esther when she gets captured after helping her family escape, it’s worse for the Madrausans, because now they’ve unwittingly unleashed a force upon the world that just…won’t…stop!

Great World-Building and Narration!
Revisado: 02-04-25
This is quite an epic tale! The world created by the writer has many lands and includes prejudices, treaties, and shifting loyalties, all explained in a clear manner. I am usually wary of books with a main female character written by a man, but this one has done a good job and I'm very glad a female narrator was chosen! (More on her later).
There is a rape that occurs in the book so be aware of that going in. It isn't graphic per say, but it is detailed in the trauma response.
Cheryl-Annette Parker, the narrator, is brilliant! It looks like she doesn't have many audiobooks out on Audible yet, but having this 12 hour book with many characters and different accents as one of her firsts is an astounding feat! She is absolutely one to watch and I can't wait to see what she puts out going forward.

Cozy Magic & Fantasy with a dash of Romance
Revisado: 01-17-25
Jess Moran expertly narrated this fun and cozy magic-gone-wrong story with clean audio and fun expressions!
For a town that has banned magic, a library section in the castle seems to have quite a few books about the subject... Our heroine accidently stumbles across a cookbook in this section and believes it to have been mishelved. She takes it home to try a recipe and oops! It summons a magical being!
It is difficult to believe someone would be so stubborn as to not accept the slightest help from friends because their grandparents who raised her seemed to have it all together when they were alive, because obviously they had so many more years to learn and perfect their system along with having each other and YOU to help out. BUT sometimes fiction does need to exaggerate a bit to drive the message.
I recommend this book if you like magic, fantasy, clean romance, and great narration!
