When first published, Walker’s versions of the Iliad and the Odyssey attracted attention for the quality of the writing. Multi-award-winning author Gillian Cross makes two of the greatest stories in the world come alive for children in her strong, clear, deceptively simple retellings, which are faithful to the spirit and structure of Homer’s epic poems, and this new bind-up in a friendly format comes complete with an introduction.

Great storytelling
Revisado: 09-07-23
The audio was good and I enjoyed the performance. This was a condensed version of the story that explained in todays language versus some of the difficulty of reading the original. If it’s your first time reading/hearing the story, I definitely recommend this one.

Historia
Forensic anthropologist Christine Prusik has a knack for solving the most unusual cases—and for bending the rules in the process. When the bodies of young women start appearing in the caves of Indiana and Illinois, Christine immediately jumps into action. But her Chicago field office is undergoing a reorganization, and the boys’ club at the top seem more interested in getting all the paperwork in order than solving the murders.

Another awesome book!
Revisado: 08-14-23
I was turned onto the first book because of social media. After listening, I quickly preordered the second and couldn’t wait for it to come out. I binged it every free chance I had and it kept me gripped the entire time. This author is a hidden gem. I love the characters and was heavily invested in the follow up of their story lines going into the second book. I wish there was a 3rd on the horizon already! Wonderful writing, details, character development, and twists and turns. I’d honestly rank these two books as my favorites. Congratulations on cementing yourself as a published author and I love that you dedicated this book to your daughter for her social media help with the first. Highly recommend!!!!

I needed this
Revisado: 06-09-23
This is one of the first times that I have felt understood. Though our trauma is different, I’ve had many of the same experiences and troubles with relationships. This book was recommended by a therapist and I could not get enough of it. Thank you for being so honest and sharing your experience. More people need to discuss this and make CPTSD a more regularly accepted diagnosis. Excellent book.

Historia
As the chief forensic anthropologist for the FBI’s Chicago field office, Christine Prusik has worked her fair share of bizarre cases. Yet this one trumps them all: a serial killer is strangling young women and dumping their bodies in the steep, forested ravines of southern Indiana. With each victim, the killer leaves a calling card: a stone figurine carved like the spirit stones found among the native tribes of Papua New Guinea—the same tribes Prusik worked with a decade earlier while doing field research.

It’s amazing to finally listen to a podcast from people who are professionals in the industry rather than someone just story telling. The insight, back and forth, and overall discussions are second to none and I am glad I stumbled upon this podcast.

Don’t listen to the negative reviews
Revisado: 09-02-22
This story is full of twists and turns and uses a fictional story to share an all too real issue in the world. Though there are some similarities to JonBenet, it reads more as a tribute to her and many other young girls who are killed in real life. Great writing, good voice actors. Can’t wait for a sequel.

Great performance
Revisado: 08-30-22
I loved the performance and music, audio clips, etc that went along with this. Had heard about this case a few times before on other podcasts but this was a wonderful performance and made you truly feel the pain the family has gone through by listening to them remembering Tamika. I wish there would be other stories done in this way.

Bravo to these women
Revisado: 07-30-22
It takes so much bravery and courage to come forward after things like this happen. I was horrified to hear how the first college dealt with the video taped incident and even more devastated that it happened to this woman again. My hats off to each of the women with the strength to come forward and share their stories and I wish there were more officers in PD who could listen and be understanding. I pray this man will be found one day and want him to know how much of a coward he is for doing this to women. More stories need to be shared like this to change the way society ignores it and wears their rose colored glasses. Great narration and easy listen. Bravo.
