I purchased this book out of curiosity, after reading the very negative review that was left. The review was so overtly personal, that it seemed pretty clear that the writer had an ax to grind. The book is in a genre I like, and I thought what the heck, I might as well take the risk!

This book is phenomenal! The author has a beautiful style! I am truly glad that I discovered this gem. The story is excellent. The first scene plops you down in the middle of a world from an imaginative and untypical perspective. It takes a few paragraphs to get your bearing, but this is part of the magic! Once you see through the characters eyes, you are drawn in, and along for the ride.

I can enthusiastically recommend this book to anyone looking for an imaginative and thoughtful / intelligent story filled with details that bring the world to life.

I really enjoyed it! To the poster of the clearly bias review, I just say 'thank you!' Thank you for writing a review so deeply personal and negative that it caused me to stop and discover this author! I can't wait to read more of her work, as she has a beautiful style that I really enjoy.

Would you try another book from Orson Scott Card and/or Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison ?

Orson Scott Card is one of my favorite authors. the reading of this book ruined a great story.

Would you be willing to try another one of Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison ’s performances?

This book could not make up its mind. it was trying to be both a book on tape, and a dramatized story. the narrator changes every time the perspective does. the effect is to pull the reader out of the story, and give them pause to consider the oddity of it. An author never should pull the reader out of the story! reminding them that they are reading a book lessens the impact that the book has.

instead you want your readers to get lost in the story. you want them to forget who and where they are. each time the narrator changes, which at times is every other sentence, i took note... and the story became just a story, rather than an engaging fantasy.

Had I not already known what a good story this is, i would have given up on it.
