Raw, Satisfying and informative.
Revisado: 02-08-23
Christopher Miller was a late in the game Secretary of Defense under Trump in his last few months as President. With Tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and plenty of stories to tell about roles, missions and some details about the men and women he led and worked with, it is a fascinating and candid look at the life of a real world soldier who landed at the head of DOD in a strange moment of history.
The language is as salty as basic training at times, and the stories are raw. Miller doesn't hide the blood and brutality of war.
Instead you get an up close and personal view into the heart and mind of an American Patriot who is honest enough to call out superiors with clarity and conviction. In a very few instances, he simply ignores protocol and process where lives are at stake or the Bureaucracy has become so entrenched and paralyzed he knows instinctively not to waste his time.
With consistent clarity and fearlessness, he calls out the Beast that the military industrial complex has become and the stifling, self-serving bureaucrats and three letter agencies constantly seeking to keep the gravy flowing. He ends the book with thoughtful thorough recommendations for future of America and America's role in a rapidly changing world.

Experiencing Father's Embrace shows you how you can personally feel God's loving and comforting embrace and points out areas that may be hindering you from experiencing a more intimate relationship with your creator. Jack Frost, ministry leader and teacher, reveals the love that God has for each of his children. His love is not doled out by age, race, gender, politics, or denomination - his embrace is for all. The author offers many ways to bring both new and seasoned believers closer to him.

Great book if you're seeking the Father's love.
Revisado: 11-10-22
This book was excellent in understanding of the impact of knowing the Father's love. Yet he makes it clear that experiencing it for yourself is not enough. It must transform your relationships with everyone in your life starting with your family. This is such a key understanding for the body of Christ in this time as the Lord is turning the hearts of the fathers to their children and the children to the fathers. Highly recommend this book. Excellent insight on marriage as well. I will continue to come back to the reminder of the need to walk in that place of Christ's humility.

informative and moving
Revisado: 03-18-22
Detailed and descriptive with many facts and some speculations, the story of the election of 1800 is so important yet so distant. The author does a wonderful job of telling much of the back story of the main players including details - good and bad - complimentary and disturbing.
Much of what we take for granted in America's governance was not solidified before Jefferson's Presidency and this story speaks to that in a way that informed and moved me. The epilog had me in tears.
Highly recommended.

Historia
From one of the leading historians of Christianity comes this sweeping reassessment of religious freedom, from the church fathers to John Locke. In the ancient world, Christian apologists wrote in defense of their right to practice their faith in the cities of the Roman Empire. They argued that religious faith is an inward disposition of the mind and heart and cannot be coerced by external force, laying a foundation on which later generations would build.

Still worthwhile 3+ decades later.
Revisado: 12-31-19
This book is several decades old but it addresses a topic that will be current until Jesus returns.
"Why do I do the things I do and who do I do them for?"
It was written at a time when the visible Protestant Church model was fundamentally as it is now: a hierarchical structure with a senior leader who through one governmental form or another has the final say or at least the most substantial amount of influence and so Gene Edward's book is written with that as the backdrop, informing the entire work.
It may seem ethereal or idealistic, but the reality is, Jesus promised to build his church and he still is.
He will have a Bride and he will have his way.
The question for us individually is how do we partner with him in that work? How do we resist control which is fundamentally Satan's form of government and instead, walk in that place of trust in, and obedience to, the one true King?
This is a short read and very very worthwhile in my opinion. I appreciated it more this time than I did 30 years ago.

Translating God serves as an inspirational guide book that puts God's great love back into prophetic ministry as a primary goal full of real life stories that articulate the culture of love behind God's heart for the prophetic. So much of the prophetic ministry is esoteric, but this book brings balance without taking away the desire to see the powerful nature of God displayed. On top of that, it's biblically based and is supported by scripture throughout each story.

Thorough and meticulous coverage of this topic
Revisado: 03-31-18
Where does Nine Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is the best and most thorough treatment of the topic of tongues I have read.
What other book might you compare Nine Lies People Believe About Speaking in Tongues to and why?
They Speak with Other Tongues by John L. Sherrill
What does Steve Bremner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Hearing the author tell his story in his own words added a great deal to this experience.
Any additional comments?
Steve Bremner tells us his own story in his own words. In the process, he clearly, patiently and methodically gives a very complete and well-balanced look at what the Bible has to say about the subject and the experience of speaking with other tongues. The author's voice is articulate, pleasant and soothing, pacing is great. It adds both credibility and charm that we hear the author's own personal journey from completely unexposed and inexperienced with tongues, through exposure, learning more, then eventually having this experience himself. He states that he now helps others who wish to speak with tongues and consistently sees results. Bremner is meticulous and patient in citing texts and stories within the New Testament (OT passages are also mentioned) and helping the hearer find clear understanding and move forward into seeking and experiencing the gift of speaking with other tongues for ourselves - and thereby grow stronger and more effective in our faith and life with Jesus. Special time and attention is given to dispelling divisive and harmful myths. He also clearly and effectively differentiates and addresses the several ways tongues can be used. The author goes out of his way to bridge any gaps the hearer may have from past misinformation as well as negative or incomplete experiences. He also speaks to the theological questions frequently brought up surrounding the exercise of tongues.Thorough and meticulous. An excellent presentation on this important topic.I highly recommend this book and am encouraging friends and family to listen to it.
