This book is the WHOLE DEAL - everything you've ever wanted to know about evil spirits according to the Bible (and other ancient texts). It's deep stuff, and complex - not for beginners! I had to read it twice to understand everything. But once I did, I feel that I now really DO understand everything about the subject!

I am a big Michael Heiser fan and I also love the series Stranger Things, so buying this book was a no-brainer for me. However, having read his other books on theology I expected some real deep biblical insights and truths. Not so. Don't get me wrong, this book was very interesting, but it is not like Heiser's other books, many of which are actually written for theologians. This book is more for the beginner Christian, someone who is interested in the Bible and the Spirit World but is not well versed in the Gospel. For me, having studied the Bible all of my life and having also read Heiser's other books, the best thing about this book was that it brought back all my memories of this cool TV series! In conclusion, if you are a relatively new Christian and you have watched and love Stranger Things, then I can't recommend this book enough, as it will teach you some important things about the REAL "upside down." NOTE: I imagine that someone who is NOT familiar with the TV series in question may not find this book very useful. It is important to have actually seen the series!

I downloaded this for free, out of just a mild passing interest in the subject matter of this story. I didn't expect much, but was soon hooked! Would make a good movie! I also particularly loved the voice of the actress who plays Eve (the robot girl)

This book has been hugely enlightening to me! As a Bible investigator and teacher myself, I have often wondered about many of the scriptures that this author talks about, concluding that Christian tradition is in some cases very, very different from what the Bible teaches! Michael Heiser boldly addresses many of these differences in this book, and unlike others who try to do the same, he actually sounds like he knows perfectly well what he's talking about! What's more, he weaves his Biblical knowledge into a big picture of God's Master plan for humankind in a way that I have never seen it done before! A truly monumental work. My only wish now, is that his book would be translated into SPANISH! The Spanish speaking Christian world needs this book!

This is a book about philosophy, especially STOICISM. I am a Bible teacher, and it is amazing for me to now realise that Stoicism is very similar to the philosophy of the Biblical book of Ecclesiastes!!! (Originally written c. 450–200 BCE, the same time that Stoicism began!)
I consider myself a "fan" of Derren Brown, but Derren's well known and very obvious bias against God and Christianity is a little too evident in this book. He has had some unfortunate bad experiences with the false side of modern Christianity, which causes him to "throw out the baby with the bath water." His own philosophies are spoiled by this bias, because it makes him completely shut out the Bible's wisdom in favour of other ancient writings. Amazingly, Derren's own conclusions in the book seem to be drawn directly from the aforementioned book of Ecclesiastes!
Yet in spite of this huge subjective bias, Derren's book is an awesome PSYCHOLOGY textbook (probably the best book on Psychology that I've ever read) and accurately describes how and why we think what we think! More than how to be happy, it's really a book on how to be emotionally mature. And in today's society full of "spoiled brats," this is something we all need!
