I really enjoyed this book. Very interesting to hear from the perspective of the legal side of these matters. The human experience to defend the victims. He very eloquently describes the worst cases he worked on; and it gives you many angles into the world of these terrible killers, the legal side and fighting for the victims to seek justice; as well as what justice means in the legal world. Great read. I’d love a second book if he writes one! Very captivating!

She is gracious. Empathetic. Raw. A fighter. This is such a healing read if you experienced a traumatic upbringing. I’ll root her on as her- the person every time i see her acting. Beautiful vulnerability in this story.

Best summary of what I feel about Mr McConaughey…As they say in Alice in wonderland…..

“Have I gone mad? I’m afraid so. Your entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All THE BEST PEOPLE ARE!” His vulnerability to tell the truth of truths and own it I just really enjoyed. This book made me smile the whole way through!

Maybe I was in an off mood when I started this story. But when I really started to listen. I loved it. Cried and cried. I wish I could listen to it again but for the first time. Loved it!

REBEL REBEL REBEL! I’m cheering and crying for you throughout this book!

I LOVE this book! Love! I finished it as quickly as I could and I am ready to restart it. Rebel was sooooo beautifully authentic about her life experiences. So moving to hear how she felt about herself as a human, as a daughter, as a big person and healthy and unhealthy person and how those all wrapped around each other. I cried and laughed throughout this book and I, as a big girl; couldn’t have been more grateful for someone to describe the invisibility you feel and the angst that is felt over food and emotions. I so appreciate the vulnerability she offers about her parental relationships. Sexual relationships. Self relationship. Sometimes we ‘see’ people on the screen and imagine we all come to our own conclusions about how their life must be so easy. We all have burdens, but the way Rebel tells of her life is so beautiful and painful and if I could send her one thank you for the brutality of writing this book, reliving it and offering it publicly I’m just grateful you did. You touched my heart and I’m a better person to have read this. Thank you!

This autobiography grips you!

What a journey this book takes you through. Such a life that some people endure you wonder how and if they can come out of it on the other side. I so appreciated this book, Minka’s view on her mother from childhood, and what that perception for her was like in her own adulthood. Beautiful life. Beautiful story.
