Historia
College student Joe Talbert has the modest goal of completing a writing assignment for an English class. His task is to interview a stranger and write a brief biography of the person. With deadlines looming, Joe heads to a nearby nursing home to find a willing subject. There he meets Carl Iverson, and soon nothing in Joe's life is ever the same. Carl is a dying Vietnam veteran-and a convicted murderer. With only a few months to live, he has been medically paroled to a nursing home after spending thirty years in prison for the crimes of rape and murder.

Too good to pick a favorite element
Revisado: 04-06-25
I am by no means a writing critic, but as someone who’s typically not drawn to the genre, this was a fantastic read all of the characters that needed to be developed or developed more than well and the storytelling was truly impressive. Then there was a narrator who somehow managed to play every part so well, it was more immersive than so many audiobooks I’ve heard before. Having this included in my subscription felt like I was getting away with murder no pun intended. Totally worth the money and time.

Historia
The ups and downs of the economy prove Rabbi Daniel Lapin's famous principle that the more things change, the more we need to depend upon the things that never change. There's no better source for both practical and spiritual financial wisdom than the time-tested knowledge found in the ancient Jewish faith and its culture. In the second edition of Thou Shall Prosper, Lapin offers a practical approach to creating wealth based on the established principles of ancient Jewish wisdom.

Meaningful writing, great narration
Revisado: 04-05-25
They must read book for all entrepreneurs and anyone who, for whatever reason feels weird about being paid for their time. The narrator had great candor and tone. Some weird pronunciation missteps, but nothing that isn’t quickly moved on from.

Likely one of the best relationship books ever written
Revisado: 06-09-24
Everything about this title is well done. The content itself is of course, valuable to both of those in and out of a relationship and the quality narration by the author really makes it a joy

Great book. Less than great “narration”
Revisado: 10-19-23
The info is solid but the “narration” leaves some things to be desired. Mispronouncing important names makes this less than perfect.

Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

I’ve never been called out in the best way so many times in my life.
Revisado: 11-22-22
This audiobook was worth more than when I paid for it. I bought it thinking it might help me understand someone else’s issue was vulnerability only to realize that I also have issues with vulnerability. I didn’t just realize that in a little way but I found myself listening to Brené describe an emotion or a reaction and all I could say was “damn” because it felt like she was so obviously calling out my own personal behaviors.
