Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

What an outstanding listen!
Revisado: 10-30-16
The narrator was astounding! His way with accents made the listen quite enjoyable! Couldn't wait to listen to the audio book when I had to ( begrudgingly) put it down! Saw the film first which prompted me to " read" the book! Better than the film and I looooooved the film! With the outstanding performance of the narrator and my imagination I saw and felt things I couldn't with the film! This is a must ( see) listen book! Literally sit back and enjoy!

Historia
A breakaway best seller since its first printing, All Souls takes us deep into Michael Patrick MacDonald's Southie, the proudly insular neighborhood with the highest concentration of white poverty in America. Rocked by Whitey Bulger's crime schemes and busing riots, MacDonald's Southie is populated by sharply hewn characters like his Ma, a mini-skirted, accordion-playing single mother who endures the deaths of four of her eleven children.

Historia
Drawing on a trove of sealed files and previously classified material, Whitey digs deep into the mind of James J. "Whitey" Bulger, the crime boss and killer who brought the FBI to its knees. He is an American original - a psychopath who fostered a following with a frightening mix of terror, deadly intimidation, and the deft touch of a politician who often helped a family in need meet their monthly rent. But the history shows that despite the early false myths portraying him as a Robin Hood figure, Whitey was a supreme narcissist, and everything was always about him.

simply "LOVED IT"
Revisado: 12-04-15
I saw the film "Black Mass" and wanted to know about this "Man". I wanted to know what made him the way he is known now. Now I have more insight and understand this was unfortunately his destiny. The stars were aligned for this Monster!!! I admit I was a wee bit prejudiced before reading this book. But the amazing way his story was written helped quell this predicament. I couldn't turn it off. I made excuses to listen as often as I could. I did other people's errands and cleaned my house more often than usual :). It flew by faster than I wanted. Oh my soooo good. I became the story covered within every word and every sound. After I finish writing this review I am off to listening once again. Enjoy!!!!!!!

an enjoyable listen
Revisado: 12-04-15
I am from Boston and knew a lot of people from "Southie". We all know the story , lived and breathed it several times over!! Buttttt.... This book has provided me with details I hadn't heard of before!! It is well written and wonderfully narrated. I have read the book "Whitey" which was amazing. But I wanted to learn more details of the true alliance between the FBI and Bulger, that made the monster become the biggest crime lord in Boston. My chin dropped and mouth covered countless times during my listen. Couldn't believe what I became to know as fact regarding his climb and reign of power. His brother Billy wasn't an angel as most of us thought. Bulger had so many pieces of the puzzle how could he not rise as he did. Whether you are familiar with his story or just want to learn for the first time. This is the book to listen to!! Be patient in the beginning there is a slow pace to warm up to but after a bit you are captured by the narrator and the very well written true story. Enjoy!

Sad yet inspiring
Revisado: 04-06-15
We all know the "story" or have seen the film but what an insight! This book gave the listener various ways of experiencing the "elephant man's" feelings and surroundings!! Great journey then when you thought the story ended there were more things to find out!! Just because Joseph Merrick died obviously doesn't mean the end! His survivors have their say!!
The narrator was a joy to listen to throughout!
Enjoy

Disturbing/ inquietante!!!!
Revisado: 01-28-15
Wow and this was written in the 14th century?! Creepy and real.even if you don't believe in an after life this will still mess you up. Like a horror story. The book was greatly translated. I am italian and know it pretty well. But my translation would bring a reader within dante's underworld journey. The performance was great. His voice was creepy and perfect to listen to for the full affect. You can listen again and get even more disturbed than the prior listen. Bellissimo!!!!!grazie.molto bene!!!!

Captivating and sweet
Revisado: 01-28-15
I saw the movie and loved it so I wanted to read the book to compare! The book was even better. I couldn't put it down. I made time to listen. Great coming of age book. But even better for adults. Writing clear and descriptive. The narrarator was soothing and invitive. The disturbing back story was not overpowering. Which made the read not soppy and uncomfortable. A great great listen.
