Historia
When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. In the sweet, untroubled voice of a precocious teenage girl, Susie relates the awful events of her death and her own adjustment to the strange new place where she finds herself. With love, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie watches her family as they cope with their grief. This story of seemingly unbearable tragedy is transformed into a suspenseful and touching narrative about family, memory, love, heaven, and living.

So good I listened twice
Revisado: 08-16-24
I loved this audiobook so much, I listened twice. I’m not sure if it was because of the comfort it brought me to imagine our loved ones who have passed away being able to observe us, or what, but it was a beautifully told story.

Historia
A breathtaking and dramatic account of the JFK assassination by the New York Times best-selling author. Swanson transports listeners back to one of the most shocking, sad, and terrifying events in American history. As he did in his best-selling Chasing Lincoln's Killer, he deploys his signature "you are there" style to tell the story of the JFK assassination as it has never been told before.

Narrator kind of sounded like Trump
Revisado: 10-24-20
I caught myself getting distracted because the narrator sounds like President Trump. All in all it was pretty good.

Historia
Alice Wright marries handsome American Bennett Van Cleve hoping to escape her stifling life in England. But small-town Kentucky quickly proves equally claustrophobic, especially living alongside her overbearing father-in-law. So, when a call goes out for a team of women to deliver books as part of Eleanor Roosevelt’s new traveling library, Alice signs on enthusiastically. The leader, and soon Alice's greatest ally, is Margery, a smart-talking, self-sufficient woman who's never asked a man's permission for anything.

Loved it!
Revisado: 07-23-20
I loved this story. I read this after I read The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, and I enjoyed this one more. While they were similar, they were different, and both enjoyable. Being from Eastern Kentucky, I can see that it would be hard to write about a topic set in the 1930’s in Eastern Kentucky and not have similarities. Back then it was old dirt roads and coal mines, and people walked through the mountains to travel to town or work.
