Historia
Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack - who has already killed Bod's family…

well done all around. It is a pleasure to read something beyond the trite, formulaic, and worn words that is so rampant today.

Historia
We are at war. Not with a foreign government or domestic terrorists or a creepy new artificial intelligence hell-bent on taking over the world. No, it’s a war we feel deep inside our own chests: we are at war with lies. The problem isn’t so much that we tell lies but that we live them. We let them into our bodies, and they sabotage our peace.

exceptional
Revisado: 05-25-22
Pastor Comer has written a fine work describing the focus and effort that followers of Christ need to have. I recommend that everyone that knows the Lord or wants to know the Lord read it. The only concern I have is the subtle disfavor that is placed upon political and religious conservatives in several of his comments. These comments reveal an inaccurate understanding of both political and religious conservatism. However, it is clear that, even though his underlying bias shows through, he is working to remain centered in God's word within his presentation. That is worthy of respect because it is something that we all must do. well done..

Historia
Greg Donahue’s The Minuteman, tells the story of one of Newark’s native sons; ex-prizefighter and longtime Zwillman enforcer Sidney Abramowitz, a.k.a. Nat Arno, who took over leadership of the Minutemen in 1934 and made it his personal business to put an end to what he saw as the Bund’s “anti-American” activities. For six years, Arno and his crew of vigilantes battled Newark’s Nazis at every turn. The Minuteman is a story of the ethics of violence in the face of fascism; a forgotten legacy that is as relevant now as it was nearly a hundred years ago.

Historia
Editor Rachel Kramer Bussel notes that the lovers in this daringly romantic anthology are able to open up in the ways they do is precisely because they have another person to rely on, coax them, challenge them, tease them and seduce them into traveling down a new sexual path. Whether that means outdoor sex, kink, a trip to a strip club or a very sensual massage, we get to see how the layers of trust that have been built up get used to stoke the fire that burns between them.

struggle to listen to this. performances seem to very high schoolish. As for the writing, I understand that some people think smatterings of the f word make things a bit more sexual and intense. However in reality good writing can achieve even better results without it.

Self Reliance

Historia
The most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes, the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his or her own instincts and ideas. It is the source of one of Emerson's most famous quotations, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." This essay is a considered a watershed moment in which transcendentalism became a major cultural movement. An American classic.

the cadence of the reader was disquieting at best.
Revisado: 04-14-20
The reader had a great voice. however his ability to deliver a coherent thought from the written word was lost by the brokenness of his reading ability. Rather than a full sentence that can be understood being presented to the listener, you're presented with a series of broken thoughts that you had to pause and connect together as the listener. it seemed almost as though the reader had never encountered the writings of Emerson previously.

Not a "great course" yet
Revisado: 01-23-19
The outcomes of the experiments we're interesting. However there was little questioning of statistical make up to validate significance. The wholesale embracing of evolutionary assumptions as pure fact leaves the listener suspicious of the good that may have come from the researchers efforts. This work has potential but falls short of qualifying as a"great" course. More critical thinking is needed to achieve more than parroting.

Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.
