Historia
A charming coming-of-age story of a girl between six and 12 with a rich imagination and inquisitive nature who brings us back to our time when we were girls and boys of this age. From the author of Anne of Green Gables, an astute, resourceful, astute, ironic, and kind writer.

Background music is distracting
Revisado: 04-15-22
The story is a nice one- not many highs or lows. Not full of suspense, just easy reading for a stressful life. The performance is good. I like a simple, plain reading of a story. I don't want a lot of voice changes for the characters.
The trouble with this book is this- I listened to the first couple chapters and the music in the background was very distracting. The same piano piece over and over. I just want to hear the story!

Trim out the extra
Revisado: 11-26-21
I love the story and the performance but why didn't the editors take out the announcement of cassette 1 side 2 and so on? It doesn't hurt the story any for it to be there but we're not listening to cassettes anymore.

Such a fun story! It's short but it's narrated well. Also, I've enjoyed the characters in other books.

I love Robin McKinley
Revisado: 02-18-21
I love this story and others by this author. I can listen to this story often.
The performance is good. The narrator varies her voice but not too much. Some narrators try to make their voice very different for each character but to me, less is more. This narrator does only a hint of difference for each character.

Weird voices
Revisado: 01-11-21
I don't like the narration much. The straight reading okay but character voices are not enjoyable. Aunt Marge's voice especially is hard to listen to for me.

Great story some voices annoying

I've read the book several times and loved it. I thought I would love the Audible version. Some of the voices are very annoying to me. I know that's a personal thing so try it out for yourself.

Great story
Revisado: 03-15-20
I've loved the story for years. I waited for the Audible with great anticipation. I like the performance, mostly, but I could really do without the change in her voice for each character. Some are kind of annoying. Overall, this is still a really enjoyable experience.

Great story!
Revisado: 03-13-20
I gave this 4 stars for performance because parts are quiet and others very loud. I like how the narrator reads in a very expressive way. However, I like to listen at night and it doesn't work to set one volume. Parts are too quiet to hear and parts are shockingly loud.
