Fast paced , interesting take on AI.
Revisado: 12-20-23
Fun listen. The narrator bring to life Anget G. Has decent twists and the characters are likeable. Each book had its own feel and story that distinguished itself and was hard to guess what would happen. Be a decent movie or TV show.

Narrator ruined a subpar story.
Revisado: 11-25-23
Narrator had some wierd infliction in her tone. It was a challenge to get through this book because of it. She also read the story like it was a grocery list. I will avoid her in any future books.
Story would have been okay except it seems the author either does not know much about police or FBI procedures, or just watches too much TV. Example is, no one would shoot the cinderblock.
The main character is portrayed as good and smart but really is bumbling and useless. JT was the only redeeming character. Please work on characterization and please stop tell the listener directly what they are doing and say it through the story. It feels like you are checking off a list.
The way everyone talks is so wooden and off-putting. It's not very natural.
This could be a good series but work on more realistic procedures and more natural speech between your characters.
Change your Narrator.
I was given a free code in hopes of a review. I was promised nothing nor did I promise anything for a good review. This is my true and honest opinion.

Will the truth you ignored come back to bite you? Did your youth and immaturity push your true love away? That’s the question for young Maddie Anderson. The path to her true love would prove to be winding and twisting. And a path that she would have to learn to maneuver on her own.

Boring and no real stakes.
Revisado: 11-25-23
Narrator was fine. Not sure why she made all the older chapters talk slow and snobby and condescending tones.
The author prides themselves with inner conflict but it's really just whiny. What exactly was the inner conflict? Life?
Author has experts helping her with this? What was Maddie actually doing wrong? Just not getting through patients fast enough? She was not working in the ER. It was pre-planned appointed patients. She wants to be everyone's friend? Very unclear. The start of book she was portrayed as calm and collected and everyone looked up to her. Then a couple days go by and she is a mess?
Is this how women think? Base whole life in a couple days. I seriously doubt a 25 year old Nurse would get frazzled this fast.
The relationship seems forced to me. No real stakes. Just a fling that after a month was all about love and soul mate material.
The writing is simple and easy to follow. Sex scenes are not terribly graphic.
I am clearly not the target audience and was sent a free code in hopes of a review. Hopefully the author puts more stakes if they are going to use medicine as their background. Heck, Hearts Medicine, which is a game phone app has more heart and emotion than this. I do wish the author luck and good will. If you want to bring listeners in who would normally never listen to this type of book, put more stakes in.

Historia
In the spirit of Oliver Sacks Awakenings and the TV series House, Dr. Eric Manheimer's Twelve Patients is a memoir from the medical director of Bellevue Hospital that uses the plights of 12 very different patients - from dignitaries at the nearby UN, to supermax prisoners from Riker's Island, to illegal immigrants, and Wall Street tycoons - to illustrate larger societal issues.

Story bogged down with political beliefs.
Revisado: 04-25-20
I was expecting more medical than what I got. Eric should have also used a different narrator. it seemed like he was a different person in certain chapters and just did not flow very well. I was hoping for more medical and les s people's lives outside of the hospital.

Sad story of mental health and a monster.
Revisado: 01-01-20
The narrator brought to life a man who would become a monster. He had range and I could see change in emotions through his voice.
I do wish more was said about the trial itself and the actual crime but always find it interesting how one gets from being a kid to a monster to the world and how we as a nation or the world failed to see mental health issues.
