Story
Revisado: 08-21-24
Same as all the previous books. Half the book is a history lesson, which is interesting. The remaining book is the plot. Like always, Lance Spector is only about ten percent of the story. He is a minor character in these books. Why?

Historia
The Russian by Saul Herzog is the stunning second instalment in the series that has taken the publishing industry, and Hollywood rights departments, by storm. This dazzling tour de force is a full standalone novel. From the mind of one of the most creative and versatile writers working in America today, this book will surely go down as a classic of the spy thriller genre.

Main Character
Revisado: 02-02-24
It’s a Lance Spector novel but he plays a much smaller role than expected. Why?

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

Decent book
Revisado: 02-01-22
As with the first book in the series the first third of the book starts slow. Also the first third has little to do with the plot of the book and adds unnecessary fluff. The story gains traction in the second half with a strong finish.

Over dramatic
Revisado: 08-02-19
Over dramatic and lifeless. Ending is “ Ho-Hum”. Not worth the time or money invested.
