The book of Ezekiel contains some of the most incredible prophecies in the Bible, including detailed description of a nuclear war and the cleanup afterward. Ezekiel ministered to a nation experiencing judgment for its sins, and may have some lessons for us today. Ezekiel's name means "God strengthens, or God will strengthen". Ezekiel is one of the three that were called Captivity Prophets (the other two are Jeremiah and Daniel). Ezekiel never mentions Jeremiah in his writings, but he does mention Daniel three times.

History
Revisado: 03-19-23
It can be difficult to work around the appearance of “racism”. Mr. Missler has a history of United States military service, and has learned precision, and he enjoys it. So, he very effectively details nuisance we might miss. He also takes the Bible seriously. The Book of Ezekiel is history, and prophecy. If you don’t believe the Bible is true, you’ll struggle. It comes down to not understanding history, the Everlasting Hatred, that Ishmael and Esau have intermarried, and the Abrahamic Covenant. The reader must be aware of who the Midianites are, and the land contract of Israel. It’s not racism the way we define it today. Think more of it as drawing genealogy lines, and family trees.
All that said to say, sit down and listen carefully. And read your Bible. The book of Ezekiel is complicated, it isn’t organized chronologically, and, it isn’t just the history of the Babylonian Captivity. It’s prophetic, and not understanding Israeli history will leave the reader not getting the full benefit of this study.
All told, this is an excellent study. I wish it were more in depth, but personal study is expected. The history has been very helpful, because few scholars link Israeli history to the Medes, the Persians, the Babylonians.

The quintessential hellfire and damnation sermon that reportedly caused mass conversions and repentances. This used to be (and in some places still is) taught as part of the US high school American literature curriculum. Perhaps more controversial today than in 1741!

Hell is Real!
Revisado: 11-06-22
Truth and Loving kindness! You don’t have to like the truth, and you don’t have to accept the truth- but, believe it or not, you are required to accept the consequences of your unbelief! If your neighbor wakes you up, insists your house is on fire, but you go back to sleep, because you don’t want to believe it, or you don’t want to act on the truth, your house is still on fire!
Eternity is real, and, it is everlasting and forever. God has worked very hard to provide for you, especially your eternal soul. It cost him everything! It cost him his son, his only begotten son! Why? Because God has attributes, namely, He is Truth, He is Just, He is Righteousness! Your sin offends his righteousness, and his justice requires you be given your wages! (Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death , but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.)
Take a walk and listen to this. The narrator is good, but the author, Jonathan Edwards, he has written a valuable sermon. You need to hear this.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16. Because of its emphasis on "the Love of God" and Jesus' being the incarnation of that Love, many believe this gospel is the most important for new and old Christians alike to take to heart. Written by the "disciple whom Jesus loved", the book of John is organized around seven miracles, seven discourses and seven "I AM" statements. This study is so deep "an elephant can bathe in it, and yet an infant can wade in it."

Very Useful
Revisado: 07-05-22
I liked this for the detail and exact contrast to the other three gospel accounts. As always, there are some rabbit holes, and a lot of cud to chew.
I must recommend this to anyone who is willing to lay aside prejudices and take time to think. Christians will be edified. Unbelievers will be encouraged, for the hope that is clearly laid out in I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Take heed, and beware! A full 1/3rd of John’s account covers just a single week, from the 10th to the 16th of Nisan, from Christ’s Triumphal entry until his resurrection. There is more to be told than the world can contain, but even a child will be well nourished!
Absolutely wonderful, and worth the time.

Whose sermons are quoted most in the Bible? The answer may surprise you. Deuteronomy is essentially a series of sermons by the greatest Old Testament prophet. Jesus himself quoted more from Deuteronomy than from any other portion of the Old Testament.

Not entirely abridged
Revisado: 05-28-22
This cuts out prayer, at the end and beginning of a few sessions, a couple very abruptly. However, the lessons are not abridged. Lazy Christians, or those who are not interested in ascertaining Mr. Missler’s prayer life might not mind, but, prayer is essential. I do understand that repetition in prayer is nonsense, so the cuts don’t bother me.
That said, this is a great study. I especially liked the last session where the various ways the tribes of Israel are listed each of 20 times in the Bible differs. But I’m left with a nagging thought. Why only 20?

Originally published in the 16th century, this is the classic history of the lives, sufferings, and deaths of the early Christian martyrs. Abridged version
Revisado: 02-18-22
The editor claims that nothing has been omitted, except that this audiobook is less than 12 hours, and, to read the actual, original text takes 60+ hours, which another has done. It is also admitted that Foxe’s original sermons and teaching on church history is left out.
That leaves the listener with a ton of lost context. It also makes this edition a recitation of history. The war between the Church of Rome and the Reformation is an essential underpinning for this work. Bloody Mary was called so because she viscously adhered to Catholicism. King Edward the VI had intentionally left his crown to the Protestant Lady Jane Gray, to avoid the horrifying reign of his older sister Mary. Elizabeth the First was successful because she allowed truth, and some religious freedom.
John Wycliffe, John Hus, John Bunyan, John Knox, John Calvin (John has been a popular first name, and extremely common…) all battled for the truth and the freedom of faith. But by omitting the history of monarchs and persecution and political nuisances, it’s nothing more than a long, miserable list of victims. This is not good, because this was written as a memorial for martyrs.

Worth the price and God’s time
Revisado: 12-30-21
For whatever reason, when I bought this book two years ago, I didn’t include the Audible narrative. That was my mistake. The subject is excellent. Andrew Jukes gave this book as a series of sermons, probably three. But the narrator reads well, and slowly, so that its about 5 and a half hours. Reads along, take notes, and be prepared to use your Bible.
Pastor Jukes does well, using only the Authorized Version, here in America, we call it the King James. You are going to want a hard copy.
It is long, and deeply nuanced, which might have attributed to my difficulties by reading alone. The narrator is good, but his pronunciation bears peculiarities. It’s not distracting, but it does keep my attention.
You won’t finish this all if you listen in multiple sessions. Instead, spend God’s time to learn about him. Because I speak only American, a strange dialect of English, I don’t understand Eastern thought patterns. Hebrew is very much a concept communication. Whereas we have a language which can be very precise, Hebrew is not. Hebrew is a language which expresses thoughts. Greek is strictly precise. For those reasons, any translation is fraught with dangerous errors. For that reason, I fail to understand, because I don’t think the way a Jew does.
This book is worth it just because of all I learned. It’s value is increased with narration.

Not Science-Fiction! 1 Peter 1:12
Revisado: 12-15-21
This contains elements of science fiction, but it is not science fiction. This book is an allegory, a fictional presentation of angels who have been given charge over specific planets. The corrupt, or bent, characters, are us humans, but Weston and Devine, who kidnap Ransom, are evil, whereas even Ransom is also corrupt, charged with the evil of fear, and disobedience.
It is only when, at the end of the story, during a scene of judgement for murder, that it is explained that Weston and Devine, both for different personal reasons, are condemned for not understanding that all are called, and that the call to present oneself is a personal obligation. It is upon this evil that they decide that this angelic being requires a sacrifice, and they decide to kidnap a human to present him in their place. Yet their victim, Ransom, is equally obligated to present himself before the throne, and, even for him there is no substitute.
This is an incredible allegory. I appreciate how the angel in charge is saddened by the evil of the angel in charge of earth, and the phrase that is most important is “Which things we desire to look into.” (I Peter 1:12).

In Hebrew, this book is called dibhere ha-yamim: ''the words concerning the days.'' The Jewish Bible regards the Old Testament as 22 books and Chronicles is counted as a single book. I and II Chronicles take the form of a history: David and Judah are the focal points. The emphasis of I and II Chronicles is on the Southern Kingdom and the preservation of the Davidic line.

Accurate, precise hermetically sound
Revisado: 12-09-21
Once again, Dr. Missler brings a thought provoking, intense study based upon Scripture. Secular history is used only when it does exactly what the Bible says, presents the truth. And there are times when secular world history has you scratching your head. When you open your Bible, and use it as the sole source of truth, it all becomes very clear.
My recommendation is to use the King James Bible. It is authorized to be read in churches, it’s very few grammatical errors are known, but we’re not erroneous then. We have changed the English language! And it is possible with technology to get into word studies, but it isn’t necessary. The Bible itself interprets itself. All of world history, all true science, it proves the Bible.
But a good teacher helps people like me learn to think like God, who cannot lie. Nor can God learn, but he will instruct those who seek him.

Imaginative retelling of a TRUE horror account
Revisado: 10-19-21
The account on which this yarn is spun is a True account of history. Elijah, and his successor, Elisha, are real people. Jehosheba, Ahaziah's sister did hide the infant Joash in the Temple, away from Athaliah, who had intended to murder every claimant to the line of David... Jezebel, and her wicked husband Ahab were truly evil. Don't kid yourself.
What I did not like is that, to create memorable, comprehensible narrative, seven angels are named and ranked. The Bible names only three- Michael, Gabriel, and, the adversary, Lucifer. Michael alone, Israel's warrior, is called archangel. But the story would be very difficult to follow in this format if Jehu's wife didn't have a name, and her sister.
You very much need to read your Bible. Then, once you know what is true, you can allow the author his creative license.
I really liked that the author narrated his own book. Unlike others, I wasn't bothered by the dramatic portions, which helped me follow along.
Whatever you do, don't follow fables headlong. But good fiction is entertaining. However, if you are sensitive to innuendo and explicit description, you won't like this.
