Historia
In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt lays out the facts about the epidemic of teen mental illness that hit many countries at the same time. He then investigates the nature of childhood, including why children need play and independent exploration to mature into competent, thriving adults. Haidt shows how the “play-based childhood” began to decline in the 1980s, and how it was finally wiped out by the arrival of the “phone-based childhood” in the early 2010s.

Both Shocked and not Shocked
Revisado: 02-18-25
The research presented is solid. The effects of social media and overuse of screens for our children is startling and yet, it’s not surprising. We need help. Now.

Historia
We all live at the mercy of our ideas, and nowhere is this more true than our ideas about God. The problem is many of our ideas about God are wrong. Not all wrong, but wrong enough to form our souls in detrimental and disheartening ways. God Has a Name is a simple yet profound guide to understanding God in a new light--focusing on what God says about himself in the Bible. This one shift has the potential to radically alter how you relate to God, not as a doctrine, but as a relational being who responds to you in an elastic, back-and-forth way.

I love how JMC writes, challenging old mindsets and bringing light and life to the reality that is Jesus.

Historia
All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

Listen to Her Story!
Revisado: 10-29-23
Listening to the audio version as I walked each morning made it feel like Beth was right there with me, weaving her vulnerable, grace-filled story with wit, wonder and wisdom. I laughed with her. I cried with her. I am so grateful that the Lord gifted this generation with this amazing woman of God. She’s a true treasure and we are blessed to have her share a portion of her life story with us. Thank you, Beth!
