Historia
On the surface, the Victorian age is one of propriety, industry, prudishness and piety. But scratch the surface and you’ll find scandal, sadism, sex, madness, malice and murder. Presented by Stephen Fry, this series delves deep into a period of time we think we know, to discover an altogether darker reality. The stories we’re told offer a different perspective on an era which underwent massive social change. As education, trade, technology and culture blossomed, why was there an undercurrent of the ‘forbidden’ festering beneath Victorian society?

Why the music?
Revisado: 11-06-18
This is the first time I write a review for a long period of time. I do so like listening to Stephen Fry read and watching. him on tv and this book is interesting but I could not but be irritated by all the music and other noises in the background. So please could there be a chance of another copy without it???? I would most certainly buy that book! That is all. Thank you

Historia
Michael Robotham's Suspect, hailed as "a lightning-paced debut" by Entertainment Weekly, was an international best seller that raised the bar for thrillers. Now two characters from that acclaimed novel, Detective Vincent Ruiz and psychologist Joe O'Loughlin, return for the electrifying Lost. When Detective Ruiz is pulled from the Thames, he has a bullet in his leg, a photograph of a missing (and presumed dead) girl in his pocket, and absolutely no memory of what happened.

Good story.
Revisado: 11-25-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would recommend the book to all that like a good criminal- and mind reading (meaning Dr.Joseph O'Loughlin) story.
What did you like best about this story?
Don't know what was best. I few things bothered me such as how the detective had physical endurance to make his inquiring as he did. But it is fiction, right??
Which character – as performed by Ray Lonnen – was your favorite?
I must say that Mr. Lonnen is not quit to my liking reading this book. Many characters where good, like the doctor and his wife for instant. But detective Ruiz was so soft and so different from the book The Sucpect that he lost my a little, if you know what I mean.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes,and I listened every minute I had to do so!

Revisado: 08-25-14
What did you like best about Threat Vector? What did you like least?
I did listen to the end but it was almost difficult for my follow all ends end odds of everybody. Jet, I did and think I got it all, well almost all.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot is complex and many threads laid all over the world almost and it kept my tension awake but not quite on the edge of my seat, no.
Have you listened to any of Lou Diamond Phillips’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I honestly don't remember if I have listen to him before, but he is good and I would listen to him again for sure.
Was Threat Vector worth the listening time?
Well, I have to say it might have been shorter for my liking at least.

Very unusual for my but enjoyable
Revisado: 08-25-14
If you could sum up A Tale for the Time Being in three words, what would they be?
Three words? Truth, time, tears.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I cannot name one character and say he or she was a favorite. The old grandma I feel I did not get to know well and the mothers are a little unclear and fogy. But still all equally important,, and made the story.
Which character – as performed by Ruth Ozeki – was your favorite?
She, Ms. Ruth Ozeki read all character equally good, I hope she reads more book as well as her own and maybe she has?
If you could rename A Tale for the Time Being, what would you call it?
I don't know. Is this a story of two parallel worlds or times. Is it a story of her self. Is this a story of what??? Now I am writing and now I am not and then what??
Any additional comments?
Beautiful story, wonderfully read. Thank you.

Really, really enjoyable!
Revisado: 08-11-14
Would you listen to The Queen of Bedlam again? Why?
No, I would not listen to it again or at least not in the very near future. I very nearly do read books twice.
What other book might you compare The Queen of Bedlam to and why?
Maybe the books about the Hangman's daughter by Oliver Potzsch or the Bryce Cortenay's stories about Solomon the London thief. not so very similar apart from the timeframe. I do like stories from the 16th and 17th hundred.
What about Edoardo Ballerini’s performance did you like?
Edoardo Ballerini is absolutely great!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This story made my stay awake longer than was health for me and my work!
Any additional comments?
Now that I have read/listen to Speaks the Nightbird and the Queen of Bedlam, I will take a brake from Matthew Corbett. But I will com back to him after awhile for sure.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Weight of Silence?
Maybe the beginning of Callie's terrible journey with her father through the woods.
Which scene was your favorite?
No one scene was a favorite but every person had his or hers moment and I liked the way everybody had a voice although I would have liked to get some insight into the mind of the father.
Who was the most memorable character of The Weight of Silence and why?
I almost think it was the wife of the sheriff who was the most memorable for her lack of empathy.
Any additional comments?
