Holly deserved better
Revisado: 03-12-24
She deserved a better narrator. She deserved more than an honorable mention in a book about Covid and Trump. She deserved the supernatural. She deserved a real monster on par with Brady, "Terry," and Chet, not a couple of decrepit octogenarians. Most importantly she deserved a better story.

Historia
With the snow falling fast on a New Hampshire mansion, seven 20-somethings gather for a weekend that will change their lives irrevocably. The extravagant trip to celebrate Will and Jessica's upcoming nuptials brings together a cast of characters who know each other from Ivy League schools and childhood Upper East Side haunts. There is Lulu, an LA-based Instagram influencer; Maxie, a former Park Avenue princess, now Midwestern housewife; Yael, an ER doctor from Ohio; Rob, a colorless Wall Street trader; Will, a morality-obsessed lawyer; Jessica, Will’s perfectionist bride-to-be....

Gossip Girl: Where are they now?
Revisado: 04-28-21
Hey there, readers. Gossip Girl here.
Spotted: The Upper Eastsiders we all love to hate are jet-setting to a secluded resort for a reunion. Stay tuned for the same old tired tales of debauchery, deceit, and scandal. Rumor has it that someone will be leaving the party as cold as the New Hampshire snow. Until next week...

Painfully slow. Vapid, flat characters that are impossible to like. Tired plot. I started waiting for it to end halfway through. Save your credit.

Historia
The first book in the best-selling series that has garnered over a million fans across the globe. Retired homicide detective Thomas Prescott is reluctant to read the bestselling true-crime thriller, Eight in October. After all, it was his case, and he doesn’t need to be reminded of the gruesome details. The book dubbed the serial killer, Tristen Grayer, The MAINEiac. Grayer is allegedly dead, but only Prescott knows the truth: Grayer is alive and lurking in the shadows.

Good Story. One-liner overkill.
Revisado: 01-11-21
Interesting story, but annoying main character. The intensity of the plot is buried under Prescott's obnoxious behavior. I understand the need for comic relief, but the author missed the mark. Instead of comedy, the reader is inundated with immaturity and a character that takes nothing seriously.

Historia
Kate Youngblood is disappearing. Muddling through her late 30s as a creative writing professor at Blackwood college, she's dangerously close to never being noticed again. The follow-up novel to her successful debut tanked. Her husband left her for a woman 10 years younger. She's always been bright, beautiful, independent and a little wild, but now her glow is starting to vanish. She's heading into an age where her eyes are less blue, her charm worn out, and soon no one will ever truly look at her, want to know her, again. Except one.

Fantastic listen!
Revisado: 09-02-20
Interesting premise with a brilliant cast of antiheroes. More than once, I found myself hating the characters while simultaneously rooting for them. After thousands of pages and countless hours spent buried in psych thrillers, I can honestly say I have never read anything this unique. highly recommended both author and book.

Drags on and on and on and on...
Revisado: 08-17-20
This book wasn't at all suspenseful. Nor would I consider it a thriller. It's more like listening to an entire season of Criminal Minds. Honestly, I spent the last 2 hours just praying for it to be over.
Narrator was good though.

Historia
No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents, all of whom are rich or famous or both. These are the only rules for Jules Larsen’s new job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings. As she gets to know the residents and staff of the Bartholomew, Jules finds herself drawn to fellow apartment sitter Ingrid. When Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems, Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story...until the next day, when Ingrid disappears.

Awful!
Revisado: 08-08-20
I spent the last two hours struggling to get through this. Good concept, but poorly executed and narrated. Ugh. The narrator barely changed her voice for characters with the exception of a horrendous, embarrassing Brooklyn accent.

Slow start. Writing is compelling & profound
Revisado: 07-05-20
There is a substantial amount of dialogue. Especially in the beginning chapters. It reads more like a screenplay than a novel.
The writing is profound, almost prophetic in the way it calls the reader to look inward for a healthy dose of self reflection and awareness.

Stay Away!! Read the book. Don't listen!
Revisado: 07-02-20
The narrator DESTROYED what is most likely a fantastic story. I gave up after 9 minutes. Read the paperback and stay far, far away from the audio version. Audible, you should be embarrassed for publishing this in your catalog.

Very slow, but worth the wait.
Revisado: 06-14-20
I'll admit, when I realized I was halfway through the book, I was convinced I had found another dull love sorry posing as suspense. And then...the author knocked it out of the park. I didn't see the plot twist coming, which is rare as I have read countless books in this genre. Characters were well developed, no glaring plot holes, it was an easy listen, and worth the credit.
