the over dramatic reading was very distracting. Extremely hard to follow. I felt like I was watching an old Mike Hammer type movie.

Chris Bohjalian is one of my favorite authors and this book will give you a reason why.
So very good. I loved every character in this book!
Highly recommend. Don't start listening unless you are able to listen from start to finish in one sitting!

This was such a cute and very funny story.
In its own twisted way, it's about family and how they will have your back, whether they want to or not, when needed.
I laughed out loud many times while listening.
I do recommend and both the eBook and audio are available through Kindle Unlimited.

Great next in the series thriller!

This one wasn't quite as gripping as the first one was but it's absolutely a great thriller.
My rating is only comparing it to the first. If I had read it on its own, it would have gotten 5 stars for sure.
Again, trigger warnings for everything.
The narrators are terrific for these books.
My review for the first book, The Butcher and the Wren:
I was scrolling through Facebook and saw a "what are you reading?" post from a favorite author. One lady was reading this book and I was immediately drawn to the cover and title. I purchased immediately from Audible. This was an excellent book!
Trigger warnings for everything! But if you love Karin Slaughter and the television show Criminal Minds and survived, you will be ok.
As soon as it was over, thank goodness I had another credit because I immediately bought the next one in the series.
For all of you cliffhanger haters, this one definitely ends in a cliffhanger and so does the next one. I myself love cliffhangers. So much fun waiting for the next book to come out.
Highly recommended and the narrators were terrific!
