The audiobook is NOT unabridged
Revisado: 10-28-23
I absolutely love this book. Fantastic story with perfect narration. I enjoyed the audiobook so much that I bought the kindle version for immediate reread. Only five pages in and found several printed sentences that are not in the audio. This is causing me some major trust issues.
That being said, I am all in on this adventure series. Jodi Taylor is a phenomenal writer very adept at planting little hooks that kept me reading and asking so many questions. I could not stop listening! Highly recommended.

Seriously, why?
Revisado: 03-08-17
Would you listen to Silence Fallen again? Why?
Probably, but it is not the same.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I am just echoing what others have stated. Why did they add the male narrator? Lorelei's got this. Her male voices were perfect. The male narrator is okay, I think I would enjoy his reading of something I am unfamiliar with, but....I miss my guys. They sound all wrong now.
Any additional comments?
Mercy is as great as always, but the change up was very distracting.

Historia
Birmingham, Alabama, has lost all power. Its streets are jammed with cars that won’t start, and its airport is engulfed in flames from burning planes. All communications—cell phones, computers, even radios—are silent. Every home and business is dark. Is it a natural disaster, a terrorist attack, or something far worse?

I want to have a discussion group around this book
Revisado: 08-03-16
What didn’t you like about Dick Hill’s performance?
The constant whining and complaining of the children does get pretty annoying. I am absolutely certain I would not be able to put up with them AND the lack of air-conditioning. I think the narrator contributes to my distaste for the children. I do like the general narration, but when he tries to do women and children, ugh.
Any additional comments?
There is something compelling about this series for me. I am fascinated by the images of life after the power goes out and how the family and the community respond to the intensive changes that surround them. I cannot help but put myself in some of these situations and wonder how I would react. Would I be mentally, physically, and spiritually strong enough to survive. The scenes in Walmart are especially frightening to me because I can so easily imagine something similar happening in the event of a natural disaster. The complete lack of authority and communication is stunning to me.

Historia
I stopped believing in monsters long ago. But I knew I wasn't imagining things when I found one in my kitchen baking muffins. I'd seen him before: lurking in my closet, scaring the crap out of my five-year-old self. Turns out that was a misunderstanding, and now Maurice needs a place to stay. How could I say no? After all, I've always been a magnet for the emotionally needy, and not just in my work as a wedding planner. Being able to sense the feelings of others can be a major pain.

"Sit, sit, sit." You are going to enjoy this one.
Revisado: 11-24-15
What did you love best about Monster in My Closet?
Maurice is amazing I am cleaning my closet right now just to see if someone like him might want to move in.
What other book might you compare Monster in My Closet to and why?
I hate to overuse it, but Harry Potter. R.L. Naquin has introduced so many charming characters that I absolutely care about. We are discovering this new, magical world right along with Zoey. It might get pretty dark before the end.
Which scene was your favorite?
I will always remember the first scene with Maurice.
Any additional comments?
I NEVER do this, but based on this book alone, I went ahead and I purchased all of the books in the series available at Audible. I highly recommend this book.

I am really enjoying this series
Revisado: 11-24-15
What did you love best about Fairies in My Fireplace?
I love the entire concept of this world that Zoey is discovering and creating for herself. The characters are so wonderful and I feel like I really know these guys. I love them ALL.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fairies in My Fireplace?
Iris.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Again, I have to say; Iris. Two thumbs up Baby.
Any additional comments?
I am slightly concerned that this series may get darker than I originally anticipated from the first book. I am invested now and will continue, BUT, the covers and titles lead one to expect fluffy fun. This book has some emotionally intense moments.

When a family contacts her to deal with a disturbing presence in the old mansion they've recently purchased, Ellie first believes it to be a typical, by-the-book specter, a residual haunting by a restless spirit. Instead she finds herself confronting an evil that is older and more powerful than she'd ever expected.

Creepy and Compelling. Perfect Halloween reading
Revisado: 10-25-15
Would you listen to Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper again? Why?
Absolutely. I was looking for something spooky for Halloween and I hit the jackpot with Ellie Jordan. I live in the Savannah area and am fascinated by the history and stories here. I especially enjoyed the tidbits of local color. The mention of restaurants, libraries, locations and other details really allowed me to put myself in the story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper?
Too many too count. I made a huge mistake and started listening before bed. I lost that night sleep and expect to lose another as I am halfway through book two of the series.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved this entire book. It was the perfect combination of spooky (not horror), and realistic enough to make me happy that our home is not on the historical register. There were no romantic elements at all in the first book and while that is my favorite genre, I liked the book enough that I didn't miss it.
Any additional comments?
Highly recommended this book, I also appreciated the fact that the narrator did not attempt a southern accent. Thank you Ms. Mercer-Meyer. If that accent is not done well, it totally ruins the book. I do wish that the rest of the series was on Audible, but, Kindle will have work for now.

She certainly doesn't need to second guess her life, or her witchy ways... that is, until Shadow Lake's newest police detective enters her life. Jack Harker is haunted by a past he refuses to talk about, and he's not looking forward to a future with anyone - especially a sassy witch with boundary issues.

Would you try another book from Lily Harper Hart and/or Angel Clark?
Maybe, if there is a sale.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator made the heroine so darn whiny. Ugh! A bit of inflection and emotion would have helped tremendously.
Any additional comments?
This was an okay story. I was able to finish is but Predictable mystery with many details left for upcoming series. This is NOT a paranormal, which is what I was expecting. The narration was seriously just okay. I have heard much worse and MUCH better.

VERY hot romance
Revisado: 10-12-15
Would you try another book from Dana Marie Bell and/or Aletha George?
Probably. This was a great story and I loved the characters. If you like spicy paranormal romance, I HIGHLY recommend this one.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed all of the scenes between Parker and his ghostly roommate. I really liked all of the characters in this one. She did a great job of setting up for the next book in the series. I would like to continue with the series, but might read it instead of listen, as I can easily skip sections I am not interested in.
Any additional comments?
This book reminded slightly me of the "Sugar Maple" series by Barbara Bretton. A small town full of quirky paranormal characters. The Bretton series is a bit more my style as the sex scenes are more romantic and less graphic.

Where does Would-be Witch rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It was a very good listen and I recommend it. I am going to be purchasing the next one in the series. I liked the main characters and am interested in getting to know more about their adventures.
Any additional comments?
I liked the narrator, she had decent southern accent. At the risk of spoiling anything, I am not a fan of the "love triangle" trope. Hopefully, that will work out quickly.

Ewwww!
Revisado: 02-27-15
What disappointed you about Tall, Dark & Lonely?
My problems started with the bathroom. Apparently, the hero was content to live in complete filth. He knew it was disgusting, because he bought those stupid car air fresheners. I get sloppy, messy, dirty; but a bathroom that has not been cleaned in years? How can you consider kissing someone who lives like that?
I was working through that. Maybe, he was trying to atone for something, maybe he showered at the gym? But then, there was just a total ick factor for me that I simply could not get past. I was completely disgusted. Deleted the book and did not finish.
Would you ever listen to anything by R. L. Mathewson again?
Probably - NOT
Any additional comments?
Okay, there were some minor problems with the writing, but the story had me hooked. I was interested in the characters and the narration was very well done. I am disappointed that I cannot continue the series. If you can get past some of the fetishes in this book, it has potential.
