Historia
For more than 25 years, David Sedaris has been carving out a unique literary space, virtually creating his own genre. A Sedaris story may seem confessional, but is also highly attuned to the world outside. It opens our eyes to what is at absurd and moving about our daily existence. And it is almost impossible to listen without laughing.

Some old favorites, but plenty of new

I love David Sedaris's writing. Humorous, but poignant. His stories are laugh out loud, tears streaming down my face! Thank you!!

Cringe-Worthy Sex Scenes
Revisado: 12-07-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Maybe for a laugh at the sex scenes - book itself is just ok
Was Midnight Bayou worth the listening time?
Yes, since I got it for a cheaper price - but I think I would have been disappointed if I had wasted a credit on it.
Any additional comments?
If you are bothered by bad accents and extremely repetitive words, stay away. Specifically, the main character who describes herself as Cajun is voiced with a slight Irish brogue and the author uses "cher" constantly as a form of affection. When I mean constant, it seems it's in just about every other sentence.

Historia
On a fateful summer morning in 1986, two 11-year-old girls meet for the first time. By the end of the day, they will both be charged with murder. Twenty-five years later, journalist Kirsty Lindsay is reporting on a series of sickening attacks on young female tourists in a seaside vacation town when her investigation leads her to interview carnival cleaner Amber Gordon. For Kirsty and Amber, it's the first time they've seen each other since that dark day so many years ago.

Excellent Narrator!
Revisado: 10-07-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Wicked Girls to be better than the print version?
Haven't read the print version, but the narrator really made this story come to life for me.
What does Anna Bentinck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I've listened to many audio books here on audible and I think she's tops! She really made the story come to life, especially during the last sequences.
