Historia
Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker's art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it.

Trump is always right...
Revisado: 04-06-25
This book gives an in-depth look at the unique business mind of America's greatest president. From his rookie season in commercial real estate to his many casinos in New Jersey, Donald Trump's meteoric rise in New York's cutthroat property market was of his own doing because of his legendary passion and hard work. I highly recommend this and all his books.

An indictment of religion...
Revisado: 06-25-24
...hidden within the covenience of fiction. It's clear that this famed author is more apt to use his publishing soapbox to spread the fallacy of athiesm hidden in a web of pseudo-science. He seemed more enthusiastic about de-legitimizing God than taking the care necessary to deliver a quality, exciting story. Apart from that, the reader herself is brilliant and is a master of accents and dialects and the recording itself was crystal clear.

Historia
The visiting clubhouse in San Diego was soggy, sweaty and sticky after the 1998 Yankees swept the Padres in four games and celebrated winning their 24th World Series title. The players raised bottles of Champagne, sprayed the bubbly on each other and reveled in a baseball season that might have been more memorable than any in history. Jack Curry was part of that unforgettable scene as a reporter, navigating around the clubhouse to ask the same, pertinent question.

This audiobook was as enjoyable as it was compelling and the author did a terrific job of reading his own work. Written intelligently and from an insider's perspective, Mr. Curry - a Yankee superfan - brings the listener face-to-face with a laser-focused team whose destiny would not be denied them.

It's a very good story, but...
Revisado: 08-26-21
...the book is written as if by a twelve-year-old who stopped school in the fourth grade. The dramatic action scenes are read as if by a bored teenager. If I didn't have the book in which to read along, there's no way that I could have tolerated this audio book for very long.

Historia
In his number-one best seller The Perfect Storm, Sebastian Junger describes Linda Greenlaw as "one of the best sea captains, period, on the East Coast." Now Greenlaw tells her own riveting story of a 30 day swordfishing voyage aboard one of the best-outfitted boats on the East Coast, complete with danger, humor, and characters so colorful they seem to have been ripped from the pages of Moby Dick. The excitement starts immediately, even before Greenlaw and her five-man crew leave the dock.

Historia
They Bled Blue is the rollicking yarn of the Los Angeles Dodgers' crazy 1981 season, a watershed campaign that cemented the team's place and reputation as fitting thoroughly within the surrounding LA culture. That it culminated in an unlikely World Series win - during a split season demarcated by a strike, no less - is not even the most interesting thing about this team.

Dodgers history smeared by a Giants fan...
Revisado: 07-28-19
The author narrates the story and does really well, but he seems more interested in all the negatives surrounding the 1981 season and our heroes than placing them among the greats of World Series lore. Full of back-handed compliments, tales of prostitutes, cocaine use and other such darkness, you'd think that the author meant this book as a psuedo-persecution instead of a championship story. When he admits to growing up a San Francisco Giants fan, you begin to realize his motivation for trying to smear the Boys in Blue. Totally unimpressed and a little angry as well.

Revisado: 05-24-19
It took me way too long to listen to this but it was the impetus that I needed to push forward and be who I was meant to be! Barrett delivers Page's message like a Diamond Cutter. I can't speak for everyone, but DDP rescued me from addiction, obesity and helped save my marriage. I owe him a beer. Or at least a hug. Thank you, Mr. Page. I AM ME AGAIN!
