Pros:
I was having trouble reading this between the writing, the weird typesetting on the copy I have, and life, but thanks to this I am through it.
Voice Acting is nice.
Audible Plus Catalog so this was a no additional cost option for me.
Story is insanely timely.

Cons:
Story is insanely timely.
Some of the audio effects are so.very.loud.
If you prefer a non dramatized version, this is not the one for you.

Cute low stress cozy story

Anxiety riddled magical talking plants? Yes please!

Cute low-stress story that I needed when I needed it. I will say I had to start this one over twice early on because I wasn’t paying enough attention to know what was going on.

Story for the sake of story

Lately I have noticed a trend of people reviewing stories like this low simply because it is just a story.

It is well written, the narration is nice, but there isn’t action or heavy romance or whatever. That is okay. It is a low requirements read for a reader/listener that just wants to pass the time with something nice.

Books can be that way and not be bad. This is one of those books.

I haven’t been quite so mad at the end of a book in forever. I have to listen to the last book in the series just to see if this story arc gets redeemed but honestly, I hate everyone in this book at this point. Everyone.

Narrator is amazing

The story really took a long time to hold my interest. I think partly because so many of the names are so similar it takes a while to keep them straight.

Book ends on cliffhanger (ish) but in this case I don’t mind. If it had not, I am not 100% sure I would have continued to book two. I am continuing to book two though so…

Interesting world

Pros: I overall like the characters despite their faults. The story has so many sub stories that it makes me pay attention. I can skip ahead 30seconds at a time when I don’t like what is going on.

Con: ‘balls deep’ immediately makes me want to puke. It is not sexy - well- ever. If it is for you great, but for me it made me turn the story off for a good few hours. There are just better ways friends. Gag. Is my age showing? Maybe.

Beautiful writing with great narration

If you are enjoy just listening to beautifully written abstraction with a general story flow, this is the book for you. Do I pretend I understood all of it? Nope. Did it require a focused attention to attempt to understand a lot of it? Yes. Would I read a second one? No. I can appreciate it for its beauty though.

Surprisingly pretty good.

I always expect a little less from the Audible Plus items. I have frequently found them flat. This story was interesting and the narrator was nice. I appreciated that she did not try to ‘do’ male voices for the male characters, though at first it caught me off guard.

Great Audible Plus family mystery/family relationship read!

Loved the story

Loved the story and narration. Narrator reminds me of the Astrid (America Fererra) from How to Train Your Dragon and I think she just sounds young.

I would have given the book 5 stars if the sex scenes had been written well and in a way that moved the story forward. I have books that have done this so it is possible. In this story you could take those scenes out and lose nothing from the story but some explicit scenes not written nearly as well as the rest of the book.

I will definitely be picking up the next book and look forward to seeing this author grow with her story.
