For twenty-five years, after losing her husband in an avalanche, her life has centered on running Lambert Perfumes and being a devoted single mother to her four children: indecisive Charles, volatile Alexa, kind-hearted business visionary Delphine, and dreamy artist Emma. DS' take on the legal system.
Revisado: 04-27-25
Her misrepresention of the legal system and putting lawyers into classes Not all personal injury lawyers are sleezy. Leads me to question if her representation of other professions is accurate. But it's Danielle Steele who always classes people as aristocrats or not. Purely escapist reading for me.

Incongruous
Revisado: 04-26-25
Struggled to get through this one. DS, don't quit your day job
Usually read these novels to escape from our troubling times, but this time had to try to put together the parts that didn't fit, such as when Bettina went abroad but didn't think her parents and grandparents couldn't,as spirits. Wasn't she one? etc etc

It was a little different than most of DS's novels.
Revisado: 04-24-25
I read DS's novels to escape from the news. All the protagonists are without flaws and there are always happy endings.

The story was cute but too unbelievable. Too many people who feigned their deaths. A mother who abandoned her child. The child who grew up with humor inspite of it all
Seemed a little disjointed.

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Historia
Frederick Fife was born with an extra helping of kindness in his heart. If he borrowed your car, he’d return it washed with a full tank of gas. The problem is there’s nobody left in Fred’s life to borrow from. At eighty-two, he’s desperately lonely, broke, and on the brink of homelessness. But Fred’s luck changes when, in a bizarre case of mistaken identity, he takes the place of grumpy Bernard Greer at the local nursing home. Now he has warm meals in his belly and a roof over his head—as long as his poker face is in better shape than his prostate and that his look-alike never turns up.

If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves.
