The author says he understands completely and has had a compulsive eating disorder in the past. He doesn’t seem to understand the syndrome at all. He suggests referring to your overeating compulsion as your “pig brain“ or reptile brain. He consistently calls it a pig. One tool he suggests is to imagine that a hateful dictator is stalking someone you love, and the only way you can keep them safe is if you don’t give into your “pig brain“, by eating your “pig slop“.

This has been the most helpful book I,ve ever read about food over eating addiction. It scientifically explains why it is that I turn to food when I’m stressed, upset, or frustrated, and why the smallest little irritating thought can send me into the arms of food. It also explains how to handle the addiction, to overcome, and forever be in recovery. Thank you Dr. Peeke
