This one was hard to listen to. I love the idea and basic story of it but.... The narrator didn't put any feeling into his tone and when the scene would change there would be no pause. So it was confusing for a bit anytime the point of view changed or the scene.
The story lacked connection. The love connection didn't happen a bit until the last 30min. I felt like there was so much more that could have happened between them to show some type of connection other than just friendship. I wouldn't recommend

I never expected my best friend's little sister to become the one I craved, but it happened anyway. In the beginning, we were both young, then she was too young, and then suddenly...she wasn't. Unfortunately for me, things got complicated, so I took off, but this girl? She followed....

Main character is incredibly immature
Revisado: 04-07-23
I just couldn't with this book. The female lead is incredibly immature and it was actually painful to listen to. I get that she is a virgin so that's where the author is coming from in making her immature but it is to a very exaggerated extreme. She also comes off as very pathetic.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Good book!
Revisado: 01-04-23
I really liked this book! It kept me interested and was a good quick read. A couple of the characters were missing some depth to them. I would have liked more of a back story on Crystal and Karen. The readers at times I struggled with knowing who was talking. Sometimes the accents they used would differ within the same chapter and character.

Loved the story! I couldn't stop listening! The book is long but I found myself wanting even more. Was slightly disappointed in the ending but get why it ended the way it did.

One night in an isolated college town in the hills of Southern California, a first-year student stumbles into her dorm room, falls asleep - and doesn't wake up. She sleeps through the morning, into the evening. Her roommate, Mei, cannot rouse her. Neither can the paramedics, nor the perplexed doctors at the hospital. When a second girl falls asleep, and then a third, Mei finds herself thrust together with an eccentric classmate as panic takes hold of the college and spreads to the town.

Had huge potential
Revisado: 11-29-22
This story had so much potential to be incredible.....but..... for a book about a sleeping sickness, the story can put you right to sleep. I found this interesting to read post covid and how this was written before then but still had elements of life after covid. The story could have gone in many directions that possibly could have made a whole series. Instead having that build up to the end, it dragged. Once it got to the end it was just starting to answer questions and then just ended. I was really disappointed in the book.

Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

I loved this story! I couldn't stop listening. The first couple chapters struggled to hold my attention but they were still good. I loved the twist in the end. I really loved that they didn't try to make the twist so big and crazy that it was unbelievable.

Had amazing potential
Revisado: 11-08-22
This book started off really strong! The first half of it really held my interest. The second half disappointed me. The story itself was pretty great but, there could have been so much more. SPOILER, once the big twist of who it was came to light it rushed the story. There was also too much of trying to make crazy twists happen. It not being her fault her brother died was a good one. But adding in that he is actually alive was really unneeded. The killers reasons for what she did were pretty far reaching. There needed to be a better reason. Then once the killer says what she did, the police magically appear and all is good. I'm really disappointed about the ending bc it could have been amazing.

Great story!
Revisado: 11-02-22
Overall this was a great story! I struggled with the person reading it. The voices used for the characters I wasn't a fan of.
The first few chapters I struggled to get into. Alot of characters are introduced fairly quick that it was hard to follow. Around the 5th or 6th chapter I was hooked. It is a great story and I'm so excited there are other books in this series!

This book has alot of potential but, the story was very slow in the beginning and never picked up speed. Too many characters were introduced too quickly and it was hard to keep up with what was going on.
