It wasn’t for me
Revisado: 08-17-24
The story concept was bigger than the story itself. Not my favorite book on dealing with aliens from gas giants. The characters seemed rather one dimensional. The “big reveal” didn’t feel like a payoff for slogging through the story.

Historia
The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs is a classic work featuring clear and simple instructions on how to be content as a Christian. Burroughs will teach you that contentment lies in subtraction, not addition; that the workings of Christianity are nothing like what you thought them to be; and that once you have learned the way from Christ's word, you will be able to attain contentment as you never before imagined.

Clear and refreshing.

A good mediation that is as applicable in many regards today as when it was written.

Historia
A poetic portrait of faith, futility, and the joy of this mortal life. In this astoundingly unique audiobook, best-selling author N. D. Wilson reminds each of us that to truly live, we must recognize that we are dying. Every second we create more of our past. Then, we must see the future. We stand in the now. God says create. Live. Choose. Shape the past. Etch your life in stone, and what you make will be forever.

Philosophical poetry
Revisado: 01-08-23
I don’t agree with all of the Wilsons’ theology. However, this book and it’s intellectual precursor, Notes From the Tilt-a-whirl, are a breath of fresh air in my philosophical Christian growth. It’s a “street ball”, crash course in pondering how God interacts with His creation. Even when the author is serious, you can still sense the twinkle in his eyes.
