Loved the Netflix show. This story lagged a bit, and I struggled to finish the last third. The grandpas health and Lilys lackluster holiday spirit was a good opener. The skating librarians would have been great on screen haha. Like another review said, I could have done without the politician's name being thrown out as a dog chew toy. Took me out of the escapism of the story.

Fantastic and Imaginative (but Abandoned Series)

Narrator was fantastic. All of the voices were easy to distinguish. Thoroughly enjoyed her performance.
Fantastic story. Imaginative world building, loved the academy infusion.
Sadly, series seems to be abandoned. This was published in 2019, and no book two is available. I hope the author decides to pick this series back up!

Loved this book. Very whimsical and creative magic. Reminiscent of jk Rowling, Roald Dahl, or Diana Wynne Jones. great continuation and expansion of Ezra squalls character. can't wait to see what happens next.

Maybe, the book was action packed with fun characters. Sometimes, the reader's accent brought me out of the story.
What did you like best about this story?
Lots of action. Likeable characters.
What aspect of Mae Whitman’s performance would you have changed?
Every time she says "dagger," I cringe. She has a strong accent on a's. Dayyyger.
