Historia
Pete Banning was Clanton's favorite son, a returning war hero, the patriarch of a prominent family, a farmer, a father, a neighbor, and a faithful member of the Methodist church. Then one cool October morning in 1946, he rose early, drove into town, walked into the church, and calmly shot and killed the Reverend Dexter Bell.

This was my second favorite book by John Grisham behind The Testament!! I loved this ending! I loved how it was written and I loved all the History! I am shocked and saddened by these bad reviews. Well done Mr Grisham well done.

Lorna Barnett is tired of playing the role of "good girl" that her mother has always lived, and that high society prizes. It isn't until she meets Jens Harken that she realizes she yearns to be cherished for herself. Although Jens is a servant, his strength and intelligence put all the society men she's met to shame.

One of my favorite books that she's written ever. Don't particularly care for the narrator but it didn't take away from the story. She is the best writer it's ever been.

I really loved this book!! The only thing that made it only 4 stars was that I felt that at the end, she was just wanting it to be done and rushed the ending. She could have done a little bit more and it would have felt complete. Other than that it was spectacular.

Hated the ending

The story was riveting and keep me entertained through the whole thing. The ending was horrible. It did not end with the same edge of my seat that the rest of the story had. Unfortunately that is how you remember books.
