Historia
How much do we really know about those we love? Kate is visiting Albania with her husband, Paul, a much needed break from Paul's stressful website business. 'Hold still,' says Kate, taking a picture as Paul steps onto the hotel room balcony. 'We'll always be together,' Paul responds. Suddenly there is screaming below and a blaring car horn. Kate stares down from the balcony at the broken body of her husband lying lifeless in the street.

Great Story Line
Revisado: 08-26-22
It does have some unnecessary details that doesn’t leave anything to the imagination. I’ve been discouraged with another English author but I didn’t want that to leave a bad taste in my mouth. This story has a pace that keeps you interested. Some authors are just meant to write beautiful stories. Mysteries and suspense are a bit more tricky. Everything has to start tying up in the end in a logical and realistic way.

Deep in the muddy fields of the Lincolnshire Fens, a teenage girl is found wandering, delirious, claiming to have been drugged at a party. Metres away, the drowned body of another girl is found on an isolated beach. And all this on a small stretch of land where, nearly 10 years ago, the shocking disappearance of a young girl remains an open case.

OMG!!! It’s the SLOWEST moving story
Revisado: 08-19-22
Ugh!!! Nothing happened in the story until the last chapter in the book it feels like. This story didn’t need a whole book to be told. It needed a paragraph. I wanna kick the storyline into gear halfway through. If I wasn’t listening to Richard Armitage’s narration, I wouldn’t have bothered finishing the novel. It’s like watching a horse gallop through the dead dry desert. You know there’s death and destruction somewhere in its path but you have to watch the horse gallop through nothingness for a VERY VERY LONG TIME!

Historia
It is the week before Christmas. A tanking economy has prompted Dr. Kay Scarpetta - despite her busy schedule and her continuing work as the senior forensic analyst for CNN - to offer her services pro bono to New York City's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. In no time at all, her increased visibility seems to precipitate a string of unexpected and unsettling events.

Major character flaws to Lucy?!?
Revisado: 06-14-22
Lucy was always portrayed to be such an intelligent heroine in much of the stories except for when she actually murdered someone. That seems to have began the downfall of this character. Seems to being one of the smartest characters in Cornwell’s novels, she can’t overcome her vanity here. She has let her insecurities take over her life. She’s become secretive e to the people who care about her. She hasn’t completely forgiven Pete Marino for his sins when she has was apparently more sinful than he was. I didn’t cheer for Lucy in this one. And what the heck happened to Rudy? He was under such a big spotlight as Lucy’s rare confidant and how important he was to her. He just vanished with no conclusion as to how they left things behind before Lucy moved to NYC.

This narrator should be reading action novels
Revisado: 05-17-22
The emotions in the story doesn’t match the intonation of the reader. C.J. Critt sounds angry and aggressive the whole time. Even the tender moments in the story sounded forceful like she’s badgering a locked door repeatedly. The story is streamlined and not very technical for the lay person.somehow each string of each event is tied up as the author goes back and forth with the characters but making it suspenseful at the same time. It’s admirable how great some people are with creating a beautiful story.
