Miranda sorts through the origins of her/our hidden pain and shows by example how we grow up collecting mental and emotional weaponry that we use against ourselves and others. With these tactics we end up isolating and degrading ourselves, to the extent of over-stressing our immune systems, leaving us prey to chronic, often debilitating physical illnesses.
Miranda talks about her own decades-long sickness, and the process that led to her ultimate recovery. Throughout the telling, she relates her personal experiences, her struggles, ponderings and epiphanies, keeping the reader/listener engaged every step of the way. Quoting experts from related fields, Miranda demonstrates the proven and undeniable connections between our thought processes (positive or negative) and our physical well-being.
Plus! The book is loaded with what I call Miranda moments, told in her no-holds-barred comic or tragic, full-on, Yes this is me! voice, which I quite love.

These little stories from Pratchett's early days are a treat. I loved how his unique style was developing as he played with words.
