Historia
It’s an underdog story everyone thinks they know. Derrike Cope, an unheralded outsider from Spanaway, Washington, was running second to Dale Earnhardt on the last lap of the 1990 Daytona 500. As Derrike followed Earnhardt into the final corner, “The Intimidator” cut down a tire, handing Derrike his first career NASCAR Cup Series victory in just his 72nd start.

This is a great read if you are a fan of Derrike Cope or if you are just a casual NASCAR fan looking to learn more about the sport. Brock did a tremendous job capturing the behind-the-scenes details of Derrike's career and giving some context to the struggles that many mid-pack drivers and teams face and how it's not so black and white as winning & losing seem to be. My only criticism of the audiobook is with no pauses between chapters the book runs together although this is only a slight inconvenience.

Extremely Intense
Revisado: 11-28-23
It took me a while to read/listen to this. Not because it wasn't a good read but because of how raw Matthew was and his brutal honesty. Combine that with his recent passing and you have maybe the best inside views of a person's life ever recorded. I had to stop on several occasions because of how heavy the material is. I kept going back though, hoping for a different outcome. Thank you Matthew. You've changed more lives than you'll ever know.
