Ten Hours on a roller coaster!

Sandra was recommended to me from a friend and I am grateful I got the privilege to listen to her audiobook, False Impressions.
The story took me by the hand to a world of Heroines, Allies, and of course the Bad Guys and Girls. I liked that she took a little time to set everything up without having the story drag, plus it was set in Canada, which was a unique and beautiful location that does not get used in books as much as it should.
Like a rollercoaster, I was taken on a thrill ride going 150 mph at some points and loved the twists and turns. There were several people who could have committed the crime, so that kept me guessing, and then there was the relationship between Megan and Michael. I was rooting for them along the way since they had a history and I wanted someone to be there to comfort and protect Megan after her husband Tom's infidelity and then murder, which turns out to be a daily double since Tom's mistress also is killed all in the same bed. Who could have wanted that, you ask? The finger points at Megan, so she has to figure a way out of the mess, as well as who the real killer or killers, are.
Sandra's characters are all well written and evoked fear, compassion, frustration, and loathing within me. She brought them to life right before my eyes and made it easy to picture what they all looked, smelled and sounded like. I also liked that the women in the story were strong and went toe to toe with the men, especially in the climactic scene.
Kelli Tager's voice-over was impressive as well and she brought passion and life to the words. I liked the way she was able to change voices for the characters and did it so well that you didn't have to wonder who was speaking. You will not fall asleep listening to her that's for sure.
If you are a fan of murder mysteries, I highly recommend this one. Just make sure to buckle up your seatbelt since it will be a bumpy ride! Great job Sandra! :)
